Social Studies Lesson: The Dangers of Drug Trafficking.

I'm using this medium to say a very big thank you to our tutor, @udyliciouz, for bringing such an interesting topic to the table. We appreciate your teachings, as they are helping us a lot.

We already know what drug trafficking is all about, just as we were taught in our previous class. Today we will be looking at the dangers associated with drug trafficking and how to arrest the situation. Putting the situation under control is a difficult task, but if certain measures are put in place, we will be on track to achieve our goal.

I doubt if drug trafficking actually has any advantages; all it has are disadvantages, and it should be stopped as the public tends to suffer from the negative effects of drug trafficking.

There are many dangers associated with drug trafficking; the demerits of drug trafficking outweigh any merits it might have.

• Country's Reputation Is Destroyed: Any country that is known for drug trafficking is said to be one of the worst countries, and people from other countries use that to judge everyone that hails from that particular country. This is really bad. Imagine being innocent, but because you are from that country, you are then stereotyped as a drug trafficker.

• Loss of Assets and Properties: it is assumed that anyone caught trafficking got all their assets from the money made from drug trafficking; therefore, they are forced to forfeit their assets.

• Sentenced to Prison: Drugs trafficking is illegal, so anyone caught in the act is charged in court, where they will be charged and given a prison sentence. Imagine being a free man once, and now you are a prisoner. Lack of freedom is not fun at all.

• Capital Punishment: Just like our tutor said during the military regime in Nigeria, most drug trafficking cases were settled by killing those involved. Getting involved in drug trafficking could cost you your life.

• Shame and Disgrace To The Family: Anyone caught in trafficking drugs has brought shame and disgrace to his entire household; parents are not and can never be proud of such a child.

There are many ways we can prevent drug trafficking, and these include:

• The fight against peer pressure should be taken seriously.
• Eradicate Poverty
• Educate the youth on the dangers of drug trafficking
• Know the risks involved.
• Go to therapy whenever you feel like the worries of life are pushing you in the wrong direction.
