Capturing Moments Wk4: Application 1 - Sunset Photography

It's a new week and we're moving into application proper to where you get to use your phone's camera to create quality and original pictures. For the first part of our application, we'll be focusing on nature. Let's learn how to perfect nature photography before moving to animate things. For this week, we'll be focusing on Sunset photography.

Sunset Photography

Sunset is an obvious word for most of us which implies the sun is setting as the name entails. This is a period of time when the sun seems to leave the sky and stop shinning. There's always this colour gaze or brings about anytime its setting. It pollutes the sky with its yellow and orange colour which affects the sky, making it dark which forms night.

We usually see the sun set around 4pm UTC. So we'll be active to capture its moments. No matter where you're living, you can always have a view of when the sun sets even though there are tall buildings in your city. You'll always find a place to have this view. So let's go viral. These are a few practical steps you must undergo to make this a success.

When you see the sun set, try observing it for 3 minutes and then take immediate action as sunset don't last long or stay one place. The sun keeps moving down and before we know it, we've lost it. When we gaze at the sunset we see, try capturing it from where you are. Ensure there's focus on the picture by tapping on the sun from your screen for clarity.

	First Capture without zooming
	2x zoom out
	5-6x zoom out

It may seem too far and unclear, so you try a second option by zooming out X2. While zooming out, your phone's camera would be shaky. So you need to stabilise it in such a way that you get the shape of the sun and its colour. You also need to tap on your phone's screen where the sun is to gain focus.

Finally, you make your last zoom out to 4-5x that's if your phone has such range. You do the same thing and ensure the polluted colours by the sun are captured with it. That's the beauty of sunset photography other than just capturing the sun.

N/B: A sunset photograph is best when it's zoomed as the sun is far fetched from us. We zoom out our camera to get a full glimpse of sunset and the oranges colour which pollutes the sky must be reflected in your photo.
