Proposal for a White Paper on Support for Artistic Creation (EN, ES)

Introit

Art is the noblest of human creations, as it is out of it that our understanding and enjoyment of the life that has been granted to us comes from. Without art, our existence would be arid and all scientific and technological achievements would only serve to prolong an existence devoid of meaning.

In this era in which the development of artificial intelligence calls into question our ability, as human beings, to continue to contribute positively to technological development and the number of possible human work occupations appears to be going to get greatly reduced, artistic creation and its enjoyment appear as important ways of affirming human identity.

Some of the most beautiful artistic creation arises from the human need to free oneself, mentally, from everyday social and economic difficulties and from extreme states of mind arising from the deepest recesses of human suffering, such as misery, hunger, disease and survival from war.

Objective

Create a support fund for authors in disadvantaged situations, whether for economic, social, political or geographical reasons, to help them, as much as possible, to overcome the difficulties that prevent them from creating their art, thus promoting greater autonomy for them to free up the time and means necessary to dedicate themselves to their creations, which, ultimately, will benefit all of us.

Compile a White Paper with all the ideas on this topic that will be used as a reference for the creation of the respective community, NGO, or whatever institutional and collaborative form is concluded, in the end, to be the best to lead this process. Here, I point to the Art & Artists community as a possible base for this project.

Invitation

I invite my friends @weisser-rabe, @ty-ty, @afrog, @soulfuldreamer, @jeff-kubitz and @kiwiscanfly to present their ideas, under the tag #whitebookforartcreation, considering the following questions:

• Proposals for ways to collect financing for this project;
• How to select, evaluate and to what extent support these creators;
• What are the basic rules that a project of this nature must comply with;
• What more ideas and considerations do you have on the topic.

I would also like to thank you for nominating at least two additional people to post and comment about this topic, and to give it as much publicity as possible. Thank you all.

Propuesta de Libro Blanco sobre el apoyo a la creación artística

Introito

El Arte es la más noble de las creaciones humanas, pues de ella proviene nuestra comprensión y disfrute de la vida que nos ha sido concedida. Sin arte, nuestra existencia sería árida y todos los logros científicos y tecnológicos sólo servirían para prolongar una existencia carente de sentido.

En esta era en la que el desarrollo de la inteligencia artificial pone en duda nuestra capacidad, como seres humanos, de seguir contribuyendo positivamente para el desarrollo tecnológico y el número de posibles ocupaciones laborales humanas parece venir a reducirse considerablemente, la creación artística y su disfrute aparecen como formas importantes de afirmar la identidad humana.

Algunas de las creaciones artísticas más bellas surgen de la necesidad humana de liberarse, mentalmente, de las dificultades sociales y económicas cotidianas y de los estados mentales extremos que surgen de los rincones más profundos del sufrimiento humano, como la miseria, el hambre, las enfermedades y la supervivencia de la guerra.

Objetivo

Crear un fondo de apoyo a autores en situación desfavorecida, ya sea por motivos económicos, sociales, políticos o geográficos, para ayudarlos, en la medida de lo posible, a superar las dificultades que les impiden realizar sus creaciones artísticas, promoviendo así una mayor autonomía para que liberen el tiempo y los recursos necesarios para dedicarse a su arte.

Elaborar un Libro Blanco con todas las ideas sobre este tema que servirá de referencia para la creación de la respectiva comunidad, ONG o cualquier forma institucional y colaborativa que al final se concluya ser la mejor para liderar este proceso. Aqui, apunto la comunidad de Art & Artists cómo una posible base para este proyecto.
