After Six years of graduating from university and seeking a job every day of my life without seeing one in Nigeria, starting a business is of course the only option I have and that’s why I am interested in this topic.

Are you interested in becoming an entrepreneur? Explain your answer along with your motivation for becoming an entrepreneur.?

It can be so depressing to stay for a long time without actualizing your dreams in life even the common one due to lack of funds and everything seems to turn upside down and get slower every single day on the planet Earth.

Contacting friends now becomes a problem because you are afraid, they won’t respond, they likely think you are contacting them for help….

Your opinion doesn’t really matter in a group because everybody already knows your financial status - you don’t have it.

The above scenarios and more are already enough motivation for me to start a business of my own.

My further motivation to go into a business would be freedom, being able to offer financial assistance to my family members especially my parents who are now getting old. They took care of me, I think it’s time for me to take care of them, not when they are dead.

To offer assistance to others especially the needy. If you have ever been in need before, you will understand what it means to stay without having and the Joy of giving.

I am so much ready to become an entrepreneur to start actualizing my dreams, I don’t need to be a slave forever.

What are the things that an entrepreneur must have?

A good entrepreneur must be business-oriented and must be focused on their goals, and must be a good organizer in other to manage time and organize other relevant activities. In a nutshell, they must be someone that will be able to strike a balance in everything. A good entrepreneur should be able to take risks. They should have all the necessary documents. They should have good skills in marketing and their strategies.

What type of business do you want to start or develop?

After carefully carrying out proper research and considering any potential risks, I want to start an electrical/solar business in my environment.

The electrical business is the business of all time, it doesn’t have seasons because everybody needs electricity, if not for anything, at least for charging their phones, rechargeable lamps, power banks and some health devices etc.

Sometimes people would need to change their bulbs, their sockets and their switches when they got bad. At this point, electricity becomes the solution.

Solar energy has become a vital source of energy in so many countries in the world today, especially the underdeveloped countries of which Nigeria is one.

With countries like Nigeria suffering many power cuts, solar PV with batteries would be very useful and in high demand, also, I haven’t seen so many solar power-based organizations-projects/entrepreneurs in Nigeria, so I think this could be a very nice opportunity to venture into, coupled with the fact that I have the technical know-how in this field.

I also believe that this will provide access to electricity in rural areas and I am here for it, let alone offer a cheap solution by adopting Steem Solar as a whole for the poor.
I already have all the calculated budgeted plans for this business. But I will need a little push to raise the funds first in other to actualize this.

Share an inspiring short story about an entrepreneur from your family or from your area

My cousin has always been one of my greatest inspirations when it comes to entrepreneurship. He runs a local restaurant in my locality where he cooks all local dishes in a very natural way, but this local restaurant has gone viral today in Nigeria.

Virtually every state in Nigeria knows him through his attractive Facebook page where he showcases different recipes he cooks.

He started this business in a very small way, but now he is known everywhere in the country. His Facebook page name is ” Baptist Nature Kitchen” and currently he has about 107k followers who are actively engaging on each of his posted contents. You can view his page through this link here.

So, If I am to answer that question at the top of this post, I will say YES!
