Hello friends ❤ ️ Today I'm participating in a contest entitled “Are you for or against online shopping”
Well, online shopping to me means the purchase of goods and services through platforms such as social media applications, blogs, forums or web blogs.
They are services that are not offered in a physical store.

Which shopping style do you prefer, online or offline? Reasons.

Personally, I prefer the online shopping method. Online shopping has made buying things very convenient, one can easily order products and wait for it to be delivered to his or her doorstep. This eliminates the need to visit stores physically and saves time and effort especially in a country like mine where transportation fare is increasing at an alarming rate.
It is also a very comfortable way in that social media is so wide and when once an individual is able to build and sustain a brand and online presence, there will be a constant influx of customers.
All that is needed is a good brand image and then new and repeat purchases will take place.

Another advantage of online shopping is the wide array of products. Items sold online are always more varied than physical stores. Online products are restocked immediately and it's not that frequent to see products not available or finished online. Although items do finish but it's not as frequent as physical stores. It also allows a buyer to easily compare prices from different sellers and then make the best deals without having to walk around to the market and end up exhausted at the end of the day. It is also environmentally friendly, reducing the need for excessive packaging, nylons, carbon emissions and other harmful waste

State the pros and cons of both shopping styles

Everything has both advantages and disadvantages.

Online shopping

Pros
Online shopping reduces the need for impulse buying and wasting of money. Sometimes when I enter a shopping center, I have a list on hand but then I see lots of beautiful things around and I desire to buy them even though I know I wouldn't need it originally and it wasn't even part of the plan, so online shopping affords one the opportunity to actually sit back and identify what is really needed and the go for it instead of purchasing things that will likely stay unused for an extended period of time.
It also eliminates the need to be inside a stuffy, crowded store. One can conveniently from the comfort of his home.

Cons
While online shopping may make it easy for people to save transportation costs and lessen stress, it also is an avenue for scamming. A lot of people have been scammed online of one thing or another especially when buyers do not do their due diligence, failing to check the site or the person claiming to sell asking questions like: how long has he been posting, are there reviews on his page, is it a fake page, have people bought what he claims to be selling, if yes we're they satisfied?
All these can help ascertain whether a site is fake or real.

Physical shopping

Pros
It is easier for one to tell a scammer or a fake seller and outrightly avoid being scammed. Seeing someone face-to-face gives an ample opportunity to discern a person's true motives, at least to some extent. They way the seller talks, most times without conviction, the body language, the store itself can give a fake seller away. Most scammers understand the gravity of face-to-face conversations and so they opt for online discussions where they can easily scam.

Cons
Most times the store is crowded and everyone will have to wait, perhaps standing in long queues waiting for your turn to make payments or dealing with pushy salespeople giving you thousands of reasons to buy an item you clearly don't need or telling you an item is outstanding when it actually is not.

Finally, I would say I'm definitely for online shopping. It is a great way to market and buyers can find it really convenient to purchase goods and services. I personally enjoy shopping online, it saves my time, resources, and energy. I can be rest assured that my goods will arrive at my location and I do not have to be surrounded by persuading sellers. As technology continues to evolve, online shopping continues to become increasingly popular and the benefits outweighs the negatives.

One time, I bought something worth 1000 naira from a shop owner and she charged me 10000 using a pos machine. I clearly forgot to cross check the amount and when I found out, I tried to reason with her telling her she over charged me for what I bought and she asked me to go to my bank and clarify the issue when the fault completely came from her. After hours of complaining I had to report to the nearest bank and they sent her a text ordering her to return back the money she extorted and she did that immediately. I was so grateful for their intervention and the way they took the matter so seriously.
If I had shopped online, that stress would have been avoided because I would have transferred the money myself and made sure there was no error.
