Steemit Engagement Challenge (week 2): My Original Story
Fireworks of Agony
Introduction
The Fireworks of Agony
I recall it started in the month of love, just 10 days after everyone celebrated the gift of love and reassured each other of their shared humanity and the tender affections they each owe the other. Just 10 days afterwards, did the story of love turn sour. The gift of love is by far the greatest gift humanity has ever received from mother nature. And during this month of love everyone revels in gratitude they can live to love.
Fireworks are a delight to behold; they brighten up the night sky while ecstacy lightens up gloomy hearts and downtrodden souls, through festive seasons year after year, the sounds of fire crackers are never a scare. The fireworks that we have always known. The fireworks that we always viewed. The fireworks that make our hearts race with joy; as we celebrate our precious anniversaries.
Today the fireworks have filled our skies. They came swiftly and unexpectedly. These fireworks came with rage as though on ecstacy (heroin) itself. These fireworks is much worse than a scare. The fireworks in our skies are causing our hearts to bleed, taking along lives both young and old. Shelters of steel and bricks have failed to shield. Our eyes are filled with tears too plenty to let is see clearly; these unwelcome fireworks that light up our dark skies.
Mothers have watched their babies roast and father's have been helpless while their families burn. The flames and heat of these unforgiving fireworks, has razed our cities and lives in fury.
Children always refused to sleep so they could watch fireworks at night. But now children are scared to fall asleep due to these evil fireworks at night.
The skies are laden with the thickness of gloom, the heavens have folded her arms in sad wonderment. To behold the agony caused by man to man, is a thorn in the spirit of mother nature Divine.
The lights have gone off in thousands of eyes. The tears on the eyes of those left behind have refused to dry. The gaze to the skies bring no delight, even though the fireworks have greatly multiplied.
These fireworks of agony are here to stay. Any help hoped for have perished in advance.
These fireworks of agony have maimed and killed. The innocent, the helpless, the young and old.
These fireworks of agony were not required. If talks and dialogues were mutually embraced. These fireworks of agony were never imagined, if only we knew we would never have lived.
The fireworks of agony have bathed in blood, the streets and schools, and symbols of peace. These fireworks of agony may never diminish. But God, out maker will come to our aid.
Conclusion
As everyone sleeps and wakes and lives, everyone should learn from the poetry above. The horrors of war can never be fathomed, even by those directly affected. Many had hoped on external help from powers seemingly strong. But the reality of the war has proven this a mirage. I invite @benton3 @wizzyboy3 and @fortwis09 to take part in this challenge. I am also happy to support this host community with 15% payout from this post
Dear @nsisong99, you have really created a picture of fear and war in the heart of your readers... it's a good creativity. War is bad and has nothing to offer us be if only people will let trouble sleep. Things destroyed, are never recovered. Let's let peace rule. 👍
Good to know your heart was moved by the story too. Thanks for reading.
Hello @nsisong99
Wow, I must say that you have moved me with this writing. It's just that war can only entertain a sick mind. It is not political your approach, it is distinctly human, but we cannot deny that the political is implicit in everything, especially the bad.
Many lives extinguished by those fireworks, much suffering, it is true, if those who suffer the war can not have a real vision of it much less oneself from the outside.
I hope all this is over now. As much as you and those who have had to live through this disaster.
thank you very much for participating in the challenge and for publishing in Colombia-Original.

Hello friend, your story really touched my heart, I know perfectly well what you are talking about and living in war should not be the reality of any person, many lives are lost and others do not even begin, it is very sad reality. Thank you for your entry.
@franyeligonzalez Thanks for visiting my post. I'm glad it moved your heart too. Our prayers will keep ascending for mankind. So wars will cease as promised by God.
Hmmm war is one of the phenomena I always pray never to experience in my life, the After effect and the scars it normally left is something else. I like your poetry it's full of meaning. Thanks for sharing!
