RE: MENANGKAN 6 (+3) STEEM!! IKUTI DISKUSI TENTANG TAGAR INI!

Thank you @inspiracion for inviting me to this productive discussion.

Hi, @aneukpineung78. This post made me smile. I'm happy to find a user who hasn't lost his ability to think out of the box and to question the usefulness of something instead of following it blindly only because it can get you "rewards".

Although, I'm a little late to the party as a lot has already been said and I doubt if I would be able to place something new to the table. Since It's impossible for me to read all these comments (specially the nested ones), so excuse me if I repeat anything.

  • In simple words, hashtags make your post searhable. You wouldn't want to write something online that nobody can find or would you? Use them if you want to be seen and read. If you don't, your content will most likely be lost unless somebody comes across it manually, which is rare considering the amount of content produced daily.

  • If the hashtag doesn't match to the contents of a post then that's tag abuse. Imagine, you want to read about cars and when you look into #car, you come across posts about aeroplanes because some crazyhead thought it's okay to try out a handful of tags to make their content seen. Will you be pissed? I would definitely be.
Remember, getting seen is not important, getting seen by the right audience is everything.

  • You don't have to use #burnsteem25. People make a big deal out of it because this tag is curated, not like few months ago but yes, there were curators, who's job was to curate in this tag specifically. Hence, the big deal. (: There are other similar tags like that of clubs.
But, I'd say, always write content relevant tags and trust me, you will be good to go.

  • You can write whatever you want. If the contents of your post don't align with the theme of the community, you can always choose another community or simply write in your blog.

P.S. First five tags are searchable on steem. So make them count. When you post in a community, the first tag is always the community tag, so you are left with 4 tags, choose wisely.

I always use one content specific tag and one a bit broader tag. Like if I'm writing about hybrid cars, I would use...

#hybrid-cars #cars #vehicles

I hope I covered everything and if not, just ask. (:

Thank you, event-horizon, for taking the time to comment on this article. Even though you came a bit late (the party ain't over yet :D ), you answered something that no one else addressed in the article, which is what happens if the tags don't match the content.

Yes, I also just found out that we can include more than 5 tags for an article, and it turns out that only the first 5 tags count. So what is the function of the 6th tag? This makes me curious.
