RE: Interpretation or Interaction? On Exhibit Labels in a Labelless Age
How can we make knowledge exchange an interactive, two-way exchange rather than just a reproduction of top-down narrative construction?
We could learn valuable lessons from the galleries at the Barnes Foundation. Visitors seem to forget it's more of a laboratory than a museum. (And the man was a chemist, after all.) Unfortunately, the Barnes does not allow visitor interpretations to be added. How might that be done?
