The Body's Endocannabinoid System - #Homeostasis
There is a battle against Cannabis in the United States that is difficult for many people to understand, unless you look at the Pharmaceutical Industry and those who have a financial stake in synthetic drugs. Just this month, Attorney General Jeff Sessions delcared war on the Cannabis Industry when he announced that he was recinding the Cole Memo issued under President Obama to allow each State to decide how to manage their stance on Cannabis. https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-issues-memo-marijuana-enforcement
In doing this, Jeff Sessions is blurring the lines of what is legal for each State, causing fear and confusion for those in the Industry, as well as those benefitting from both the recreational and medical use of Marijuana.
In my opinion, the best solution would be for Congress to amend part of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) from 1970, which prohibited the cultivation, distribution, and possession of marijuana at the Federal level. In doing so, they would OFFICIALLY allow each State to decide what they would like to do regarding Cannabis. Why haven't they done this, years ago? What are they afraid of?
While I am not a doctor, or a scientist - I am an advocate for wellness, and I feel that we should be working to find the best solutions for the health issues that we, as modern humans, are facing. This needs to be approached without consideration of the Pharmaceutical Industry and it's stakeholders, which actually benefit from the illness of people. We must approach health and well-being from a holistic perspective, and look to synthetic treatments only when there aren't better natural options.
The following video is a presentation by Dr. Michelle Weiner in which she discusses Cannabis as a tool for pain management.
Other countries are years ahead of the U.S. in research for the use of Cannabis and its bioavailable components in treating a vast number of ailments. Researchers in Spain have even discovered that THC and other cannabinoid aspects can eliminate cancer tumors! The video below is an interview with Dr. Christina Sanchez in which she speaks about her 10 years of research in this field. Yet, in the U.S. we still traditionally treat patients with chemotherapy and radiation, which often do great harm to the body and statistically have poor survial outcomes.
The discovery in the 1980s of the Endocannabinoid System within the human body has profound implications for the future of medicine. We must stand up to the Pharmaceutical Industry, and their lobbyists, and demand that these treatments be legal and available to everyone. The video below explores the differences between THC and other cannabinoids found in the Cannabis plant. It also discusses the Endocannabinoid system within the human body and how it works directly with compounds found in Cannabis.
This plant was sacred to many indigenous groups for thousands of years, and it's easy to see why if you follow the research and development of treatments that have little side effects for human beings. We have, inside our bodies, an entire network of receptors that work with this sacred plant and it's components. How beautiful is that? It is my hope that in the years to come more people will become aware of this information and use it to make the best informed choices for their health.

My opinion.....the pharmaceutical companies will forever keep cannabis from being explored as a possible substance to improve health and well being. If this ever happens, it will be money out of their pockets. It is sad because I have seen the effects of cannabis products on persons suffering from nervous disorders.
I agree, it's going to be a difficult process.
I also think that we need to educate as many people as possible, so they are aware of how these products work with the systems that are already within the body. Hopefully, in time, a large enough number of people will demand it. There is definitely power in numbers. Thanks for your feedback! ☺
Exactly! So a bird of a frog would be unable to have this experience because it doesn't have the receptors to interact with CBD😲
Hi @egodust
Yes! And what's also amazing is that some of the CBD oils are even having a positive effect on pets 🐱🐶 (mammals) with medical issues.
Take care, it's nice to hear from you again! ☺
I think George Carlin said "It is not true they don't want us on drugs, they want us on their drugs"
He was such a great truth speaker, love George Carlin!
Yea I was a big fan too. He was so inspiring. Only he could debate some serious question at such common level
