Fruits and Veggies Monday Contest
I thought I would make my own tomato sauce today.
Well! it didn't quite turn out that way, instead we have a sort of tomato puree .
I cut up two onions, some garlic and chilies.
I decide to throw in a green pepper as well, just for the taste.
Into the blender it went.
Blend it all up at high speed.
Don't forget to have a taste, add some salt if you like as well.
Mmmmm! yummy, you can add some more chili if you like it hot.
Pour into clean bottle or plastic containers to store in fridge or freezer.
Well, my tomato sauce did not quite work out, but I do have enough tomato puree to last me a couple of weeks.
I use my puree for pasta's and gravy or soups.
Until next time .
Tots siens. (afrikaans saying for Cherio)

Good idea for using self grown tomatoes, when you have lots of them all the same time! Tipuvote!
Thank you so much for your comment. much appreciated @pustehlume also thank you for the tip.
I like what you did with the tomatoes, @artywink. I usually just cook it up into a relish and freeze it for later use, with exactly the same ingredients. I am going to try yours next. My husband grows tomatoes and chilies and peppers and all kinds of stuff, as the spirit takes him, so I have plenty of most of the ingredients, including some lovely rosemary, origanum, thyme and coriander.
Oh, and I think the raw puree, the way you make it, might also work v-e-e-e-r-y well with a dash of vodka, a la Bloody Mary!
Tot siens, en lekker dag!
I like that idea with the vodka. I will try it next time @minnaloushe
Great idea @artywink, especially when you have surplus tomatoes :)
thankyou @lizelle, didn't know what to do with surplus tomatoes before they went off. So , I tried my own recipe . "Tomato puree" come tomatoe sauce. hee hee
