SATURDAY AND SWEETPEAS

Friday I am a paradox
Some call me sly
some call me a fox
While others see me as some docile child
Little do they know I am both passion and wild

I love to feel the bare ground on my feet
Where flowers in my hair and dance in the street

Why must I sit here polished, poised and dressy
I want my hair pulled, tossed, free, and messy
I don’t want to sit with my buttons all done
I want to listen to Lana Del Rey be dangerous and fun

I want to know what it is like to make love in the rain

Or share a sad song, a poem and a cup of my pain

This good girl image is so pleasingly plain
The truth is my soul is tragically vain

Saturday I am a melancholy muse
I’ll paint the sky pink, purple or blue

Any shade of color you wish or I choose
We have nowhere to be or time to loose

I will share my deepest scars written, love she wrote
I will dance a melody become the music note

Then we can snuggle and breath the poetry
We can not live
You can keep my barely beating heart because it is all I have to give

I want to know what it is like to make love in the rain
Or share a sad song, a poem and a cup of my pain
This good girl image is so pleasingly plain
The truth is my soul is tragically vain

Sunday will come, and Saturday will go
Smiles and tears, laughter will flow
I will remember the weekend being both high and low
Will I be loved? Will my heart grow?

The fragrance of sweet peas will wilt and drift away
Just like this story, this poem and this day.
