“Finding Peace in the Right Place” - Day 731: #freewrite

What would you say if I tell you that Peace is the only thing that you have never lost. In fact, you wear it everywhere you go. Every single day, it stays deep down within. And with every heartbeat you have, it has never really left the house.

I know just how popular you are. Granted, you have guests every time you open the door. Today, it’s Envy, a young lady with glowing hair, standing outside in an oversized hat and a bamboo bag. She is coming together with her sister in law, the stress-triggered Anger, looking tall and glorious in a belted sequin-embellished printed jersey maxi dress. There next to them, it’s the casual Boredom in a formfitting low décolletage.

They have been waiting for a while in this cool autumn afternoon. Let’s take them to the twinkling patio surrounded by heirloom pumpkins. There you can serve kombucha tea while grounding by the turtle pond. Everybody on your doorstep. Let them all in.

I don’t think you need to pick and choose your favorite guests. They are all fabulous and believe it or not, you are closer to them than you think you are. Everyone is here for the same reason and only by inviting them in, you will get to know them better. That’s the only way to find out, really. At least, that’s what I think The Guest House was trying to convey about Rumi. If you are picky, you might only perceive a small part of your own story.

So, are you ready for your dinner party tonight? No, no no no, look at you, you do not need to worry. You are beautifully Dressed in Peace. How crazy it sounds, there is no shame in that. Without Peace, you are dressed inappropriately on this earth.

Open your heart to your guests. Let them tell their stories. Keep the night light on with their endless journey. Soon enough, you all be dancing from the same old handwritten poetry.
