You definitely have a story here and it will be fascinating to read where you are going to take this... If you are planning to do this for the next naNo, you certainly have plenty of time for research.
I can see a whole series of books here - everyone developing the story of a different character and her story moving forward is connecting the series.
And never, ever say that you are not a writer!! You so are!!!

yes. I have seen your freewrites and know that you have the storytelling gift. And you set it up in a way that you can introduce all kinds of adventures and characters and have her be the one who brings it together - it seems to me that the characters she slips into are living the experience she either doesn't understand or judges. There is so much you could do with that - if you want....
