Entry 30

Dear Emily,

I write this to you with a flashlight in hand. It's the only useful thing I have left.

As you know I'm out on the trail. I told you I would be back in two days and now it is three. I can only imagine the stress you must be feeling. The anxiety of not knowing where I am. The people you'd be calling - I'm sure you might have already called the police.

I hope this isn't my last message to you. I want you to know that I will keep fighting. My mind is constantly filled with your smile. I am fighting to make sure I see it again. But if I don't return I thought I would write, one last time, to you.

Our wedding was the happiest day of my life. I don't say that in a cliche way, I truely mean it. Our families coming together. The happiness in the church, your eyes as you stared at me while we recited our vowels. One man's heart cannot contain that amount of joy. There's a reason I danced so crazily that night! I jsut remembered the look on Auntie Anne's face when I did the slutdrop before our Waltz.... those were great days.

If I leave you alone in this world I hope you find someone else. I don't want to be the guy that held you back from finding love again. I mean, I'm a great guy, but I'm not that great. You should be happy, and you should always put your happiness first.

One final thought. Tim, our sweet little boy. Let Tim know that his Dad loved him more than anything in the world. That his Dad would carve stone with his hands to make sure he was set up for a successful lie. That his Dad was just a normal guy, trying to do extraordinary things for his family, every second of the day.

I love you. I love Tim. I will return to you, or die trying.

Every now and again I write for 5 minutes continuously and do not stop until the timer runs out. What you read is a stream of words coming out all at once. No editing, no worrying. I find this creates amazing stories as you just have to let the words take you, rather than force them out. Enjoy.
