Well, hearty thanks to Popeye, for making our childhood so amazing and aware us with the power of spinach. I guess most of us hate green vegetables in our childhood days even me too hate them especially spinach. But Popeye teaches us the benefits of eating spinach. Now we all are aware of spinach's high iron content, but still, most of us do not know that the type of iron spinach contains is not so easy to digest for the human body. Because of its high oxalic acid contents.

There is so many different types of spinach are available in the market. Spinach also contains carbohydrate, protein, and fiber. It has a wide range of health-giving and protecting nutrients. We all know that the eating plenty of green vegetables is crucial for our health. These vegetables provide essential vitamins, minerals and powerful anti-oxidants to our body.

I actually love spinach and have at least one serving everyday! Spinach is by far my favourite green veggie and to know it’s so good for me too, well that’s just icing on the cake :)

I found this quote on a vegetarian website and have read it in a few other places - When you eat spinach that has been heated, you will absorb higher levels of vitamins A and E, protein, fiber, zinc, thiamin, calcium, and iron. Important carotenoids, such as beta-carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin, also become more absorbable. We steam ours with some ginger and garlic its very good.

umm maybe you are right. By the whenever i boil tomatoes for soup or other vegetables i always put some spinach in it. It enhances the taste as well as make it more healthy.

If you google raw versus cooked spinach you will find quite a lot of articles about it. It not to say raw is not beneficial but seems like some people think the lightly steamed might be better for nutrient absorption.

The taste of vegetables may be more tasteless for children when compared to other foods, that's why their sometimes doesn't like vegetables

But if we cook them in proper manner it won't be as much as we think and there are so many kids recipes in which you can add vegetables And they will not even know about that. :P

Yes you are right,it's a very Essential ingredient in a healthy diet. Especially for growing children.
These days biggest problem in kids is eyesight,due to various gadgets.& spinach is a sure shot medicine for it.

Yep, spinach and other green vegetables are very helpful for such kids who have weak eyesights.

I also really like the popeye cartoon character from the age of 5 years until now, what else popeye accompanied by olive who always faithful.
