5 day water fast DAY 5, Friday

It's 7 pm and I've eaten a few olives and a lovely spinach and super greens soup with a touch of cream. Finished - all over. I was wondering if I should carry on for a couple more days. I could easily have, but I have to travel and I'd sooner come out of it at home. This is me just before a lovely deep bath. 71 years old, ate nothing all week and just dug for 6 hours. Burning beta hydroxybutyrate:

Sleep was pretty good last night and I decided to dig. In the end I worked hard at recovering difficult ground for 6 hours without feeling tired at all. I had a small clean fire with dry wood and Eddie and me enjoyed the day.

Glucose today: am: 3.2 pm: 3.4

Just going to eat some cauliflower cheese, made with blue cheese...nice.

So, I came through pretty well. Not a headache or discomfort at all. The 'keto flu' did not appear because I've been eating low carb for a year. I spent longer in therapeutic ketosis than last time and entered the zone faster. Maybe it does get easier. I'll probably do 2 5 day water fasts a year. But now I can feast for a week. My next plan is to put on more muscle. My body fat is about 14%. My weight is 10 stone 6lb. I'll bulk up to about 11 stone and try to stay there I think. A year ago I was about 12 stone 8lb and I had a fat belly after xmas 2017. All gone. BMI:

Plus a 6 hour dig!.......that's probably a good 5h 48m more than I can muster lol.

Thanks Rob. I've felt really mentally sharp and full of energy even after finishing last Friday. Maintained ketone levels at about 3 by not eating much carb and plenty of good fats. Still 1.5 this morning. Keep at it...PJ

My ad-hoc diet doing ok to just got the pangs earlier than normal this morning. I get weighed every Sunday evening, lost 1.75lb since last week (15st 5.75lb) . I think around 2 stone since beginning of November.

I've been naughty today :(
Visited mum as I do on a Tues, Thurs & Sun (she suffers from dementia) and I offered to make a curry instead of her always wanting a cooked Sunday dinner style meal.

Yup, I had rice.................. carb overload lol

I'll have to write today off I reckon.
