Let's Eat #10 : Tofu Sisig ala Rod
Hi steemians out there! I'm glad to share this tofu sisig recipe, it is actually all over the internet but this recipe is my favorite.
Here are the ingredients:
Yield : 4-5 servings | Measurements | Ingredients |
6 | small cubes (3x3) | Tofu (Tokwa) |
2 | Tablespoon | Mayonaise |
2 | Tablespoon | Oyster Sauce | 1 | Medium | Onion,minced |
2 | gloves | Garlic, minced |
2 | Large | Green Chili (Siling Pansigang), sliced diagonally | 2 | Medium | Eggs |
1/2 | Teaspoon | Ground Black Pepper |
1 | Tablespoon | Fish Sauce (Patis), to taste |
Cooking Oil |
Materials needed:
• Chopping Board
• Knife
• Skillet
• Wooden Spoon
• Paper Towels
Let's start cooking!
- Cut each tofu cubes into three layers and remove the excess water using a paper towel.
- Pre-heat the skillet and put some cooking oil. When it is hot, start fying the tofu. Make sure to deep fry it to make sure it is crunchy later.
- When fried tofu is in room temperature or just warm you can cut in into small cubes.
- On the same skillet sautee the garlic and onion (remove some oil if you think it's too much). Then add the chili.
- Meanwhile, mix the mayonaise and oyster in a small bowl then add a Tablespoon of water.
- Add the tofu into the skillet and mix with the sauteed spices.
- Now pour out the mayo-oyster mixture, add some pepper to taste. Let it cook for 1 minute but continue mixing.
- Crack the eggs, do not stir for atleast 30 seconds. Then stir continuously.
- Add the fish sauce, mix it and you're done!
Serve it while it's hot. You can top it with ground chicharon to add some crunchy munchy.
