Permission to go shopping!

in #fitness6 years ago

A few months ago I took a semi-serious pledge not to buy new clothes until I hit my goal weight of 75kg. It proved to be impossible.

It wasn't until I quit sugar that I started to see a big difference. Holy cow!! Why did I wait so long to do this?

Ok, sorry, this was an inside joke ( sorry man!). I love sugar and I'm actually munching on a snickers as I type. Booyaaah!

Back to my story:
So it took me a loong time to get serious about diet and get it down but finally can say that I weight at 74.7 kg in the morning. Amazing!
Too bad it's bear and we're all broke.
But other than that! WOO HOO!

I think the mental shift in actually treating food like time-filler was a big step for me. Secondly, I decided to reward myself every other day with foods I missed. I would fast for 24hours and then get sushi. Fast again, then eat a burger and so on so forth.

But one of the biggest thing that helped was buying a kettlebell. I love those crazy cast iron bastards! They are relatively cheap - I paid about 40e for a 20kg one which comes at about one month of gym membership here, which I decided to pass on to play with this at home - and so so useful. You can do some very basic stuff or go do some cardio-intensive workouts that will leave you breathless...or...anything else.

Granted, they are not very good for hypertrophy but for losing fat and staying in shape, I think they are great.

All in all, it feels surprisingly nice to make progress, although I think, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter at all.
But then wtf does anyway?

r.

I'm happy to brag that I not only lost weight, but am really health oriented right now. I went through the Rina diet like a boss for about 2.5 months, which showed great results. From 99 to 84 kg.
Now for the past 3 weeks I'm on a keto diet and I completely dropped carbs and sugar. I eat a ton of fats and (green) veggies and feel amazing .
Hell, I even started sprouting brocolli . I see it as an investment in my long term health, which is what I care about the most.

Everyone is on keto these days!!!
Good job, man. 95 to 84 is damn huge. How tall are you?

Hey, sorry for the late reply lol.
1.79 / going on 82.5 kg now. Had 2 days of break keto-wise during Christmas but I'm back on the horse now.
I still have 4-5kg to go. Gooooo broccoli

Could have skipped that snickers and get to your goals faster.

I snack on Lindt 90% dark chocolate bars whenever I have any cravings.. Kinda work and you're not munching on that much carbs too!
