Workout Series - BMI & Body Fat Calculation
Hello Steemians,
Have you ever checked your body mass index (BMI) or how much fat you have in your body? In this blog, you will find how you can calculate your BMI and body fat percentages.
Body Mass Index (BMI): Measurement of a person’s body weight with respect to his/her height.
BMI Calculation:
Body weight (kg) divided by height(in meters) and again answer divide by height(in meters)
Example:
If your weight is 78 kg and height 1.75m tall, dividing 78/1.75=44.57 again dividing by 1.75=25.47 (overweight)
Fat Percentage Calculation:
Women:
(1.20 x BMI) + (0.23 x Age) – 5.4 = Body Fat Percentage
Men:
(1.20 x BMI) + (0.23 x Age) – 16.2 = Body Fat Percentage
Example:
Considering above calculated BMI (25.47) with 29(man) age then we have:
(1.20 x 25.47) + (0.23 x 29) – 16.2 = 21%
