Give Credit Where Credit Is Due!

in #fitness6 years ago (edited)

This morning Chris and I had a smaller group than usual in our early workout, but the people that were there absolutely killed it in every way - I know it might sound weird to say, but we needed that!

They listened to our explanations, exhibited great form, were positive and happy, implemented cues immediately and effortlessly, all while trying extremely hard without relying purely on motivation and energy from us... They were literally a dream class :)

As a coach, it's particularly nice when you get a break from challenging circumstances. I had a rough day training clients yesterday and finished my workday feeling frustrated and exhausted, and I woke up this morning still feeling like my tank was a little low - so this group and the way they conducted themselves couldn't have come at a better time!

I love these women in general, also - they are wonderful people and I truly enjoy their company. Their effort level, attitudes, and attentiveness this morning was just some extra (and timely!) icing on the cake!

Anyway, I was really wishing for work to feel easy this morning, and it truly did. I am so grateful, and I feel refreshed and relieved after that experience!

So when we were all finished with the workout and leaving to go our separate ways for the day, I made sure to thank our clients and compliment all of the wonderful things they did especially well this morning, and to let them know how much I appreciate them.

We always congratulate our participants upon completion of the workout and give positive feedback, but today I felt I needed to let them know just how much it meant to me. I think they appreciated it a lot, and it felt really good to me to communicate that to them :) a win-win!

Moral of the story? Give credit where credit is due!

If you are thankful for something or someone, expressing it not only benefits them, but it benefits you too - you get to have a moment to reflect on what you're grateful for, relish a happy moment, and send good energy out into the universe which I believe will inevitably come back to you.

What reason could you possibly think of not to do this?

Who will you give some well-deserved credit to today?

Oh my goodness I can TOTALLY relate. You try so hard to push your clients to be the best versions of themselves but there's always those off days that just make you question your own knowledge and skill and it can be EXHAUSTING! I'm so glad you were able to get recharged with your group today!

Yes, exactly!!! Thank you so much :) I must say, it was just what I needed! Have a wonderful day, my friend!
