Open your eyes
Examine your own reflection
What are you willing to live for?
When your backs' against the wall
And the times uncertain
Consider this question
No standing by
When flesh and blood are threatened
What are you willing to kill for?

These read like prose poems.
Question: Is it necessary to kill to live?
It's the law of equivalent exchange. You have to sacrifice something of equal value to gain something.

It seems to be the dominant way that people live, even the dominant force of Nature (channeling my inner Darwin), but I question that it is the ONLY way to live.
As Darwin said 'Survival of the fittest.'
