Daily Opinion #8: It's difficult to commit to diet and exercise plans
is it time for netflix yet?
Why is it so difficult, though?
We live in a world of instant gratification. We stream movies and tv shows on demand, we no longer have to go to a store or even a redbox to obtain media to watch. Internet is 'high speed', we no longer have to wait for pages to load. We take airplanes instead of trains.
Popular modern video games generally are filled with quick repetitive matches instead of the very longwinded RPG's and adventure titles of the past. Yes of course the old fashioned genre's still exist, but, the most popular of them all are titles like Call of Duty and Player Unknown's Battlegrounds in which you have short matches where you win or lose essentially based on quick kills. The instant gratification titles easily win over the masses.
argghhh!! I wish I were playing call of duty right now
I believe this is why it's so difficult for modern humans to commit to diet and exercise plans. Our attention spans have been whittled down to mere vessels for instant gratification. We expect immediate results, and it's hard to commit to anything long term or repetitive that's not fun.
The solution?
The solution is probably to just fill your limited time with types of exercise that you actually enjoy. Maybe find an active sport or hobby that you actually enjoy so that you'll want to continue doing it.
The same goes for the diet plan - if you hate the plan, you're setting yourself up for failure. You've really got to like what you're eating.
All of this is still easier said than done, and no plan will be perfect - but if you can make sure you are enjoying what you are doing, you'll probably have much greater chances for success.
And that's the daily opinion.
correct diet and exercise is one way to keep our body fit ,, if you please my upvote ,, my strength is too weak @dailyopinion
I think that everything states of mind and depends on us. If I want something so much, I can find a way. Еverything in our lives is a matter of desire and choice, isn't it?
Well, most things are, yes.
