Sweden is a Scandinavian country made up of thousands of coastal islands and inland lakes, as well as vast boreal forests and glacial mountains. Its main cities are all coastal: Stockholm, the capital located in the east of the country, as well as Gothenburg and Malmö in the southwest. Stockholm is built on 14 islands. It includes more than 50 bridges, an old medieval town, Gamla stan, royal palaces and museums such as Skansen open-air museum.
