RE: The curation and engagement leagues - Sponsored by @carlgnash and @paulag!
Thank you for your continuous effort on these reports and congratulations for being in top 10 in-spite of your efforts on other works like reports on top 20 Steemians... work, @abh12345.
Congratulations to @lynncoyle1, @gillianpearce, @themanwithnoname, @simplymike and @abh12345 who have somehow pushed our own favorite guy @davemccoy to 6th place. I am sure Dave might be busy with something and will climb back.
Congratulations to other Steemians who are mentioned in the list and it's a commendable job from all of you to be in top 20 with the growing competition.
Although I am less active this week and dropped out of top 40 in league 2, happy to see myself climbing in league 1.
Thanks again and good day to all :)
Thank you @coolguy123 and congratulations on climbing up League 1. That's far harder I believe. At least it would be for me.
At least League 2 comes to you a bit i.e. you just respond when someone comments or when you see a post you like. You don't have to worry about timing.
It's hard enough replying to comments coming in in the evening let alone trying to time an upvote. A lot of the good ones are probably when I@m in bed so I don't know how people handle the tome zone differences.
Anyway. I hope you can get back into the Top 10 in League 2 soon, if that's what you desire.
Have a wonder full week! 😊
Thank you and I think yes, it's more to do with the SP we have and the timing of voting including right % of voting as well.
Time zone differences will always be a problem but the blogs posting will be happening round the clock, so, it's just like we need to be picky in voting the contents and try to find some people who get those bigger votes and need to vote just before those bigger votes comes in.
I think as @abh12345 has said many times, if we get to feature in the top 20, it's a great achievement, of-course if we finish it top 10, there is that additional incentive of atleast 1 SBD reward as of now, but it's more of competing that helps me as a Steemian and also the satisfaction of rewarding some good content.
Thanks for the wishes and you too have a great week :)
Thanks, @coolguy123! Sometimes you have an off week, but you can come back stronger this week. Yes, congrats on climbing in League 1! I'm not really sure the secret to it, so you're a wizard in my book. :)
I think the league 1 is based on the amount of SP generated from the voting we do. So, it's more to do with whom to vote.
League 2 is more of engagement although the voting also counts I think, may be @abh12345 can explain it more as I think the criterion used to change week on week when I started participating in these leagues.
Nah, I think you nailed it. League 1 is based on how effective you are at using the SP you have to get curation rewards. That means timing your votes, considering when to use full value votes, and which people to vote for.
League 2 is all about interaction. It's about how many people you talk to, where you talk to them, how much you reward them for their content... all about interaction. That's more my thing as I like talking with people. :)
That's right, as you said, timing of the voting is more important.
We can see that @crypto-econom1st has just 15 SP, but has used that wisely to earn more rewards and is the topper of league 1.
Thanks for the mention @coolguy123, I seem to be holding my place in the top 10 of league two - and as usual, not to be found in league 1 :D
Glad to see your comments as always and have a good week!
I think you will never be featured in league 1 because of your continuous outgoing SP delegations as part of winners of curation leagues.
But, more than that, because of your efforts, many people are being rewarded and more than that, many are actively participating to improve their curation skills and get noticed by others.
Thanks for the wishes and wish you a more successful week ahead.
Thanks so much @coolguy123, I appreciate that!! I think Dave has been so busy helping people on Discord...there should be a separate league for that one too :)
Sometimes real life takes over, so your drop in league 2 is understandable. Congratulations on moving up in league 1 though! That's where I need to focus on too, but I enjoy just talking with people so much that I don't seem to even think about it until Sundays :)
Oh, thank you @lynncoyle1.
Yeah, it feels nice to be featured in league 1.
Balancing the voting and getting more interactions is a bit difficult job, although not impossible. Hopefully I will feature one day in both the leagues ;)
Have a great day my friend :)
I'm sure you will be in both leagues before you know it; I beginning to try and focus on league #1 myself...I hope haha
Hope you're having an awesome day as well!!
Well, I hope so. Time is the constraint to concentrate both on comments and then curation. With schools off from this week, I am hoping I will get some additional time to spend on Steemit, so that, I can atleast try to figure in top 10 in both.
What is it that you do...away from steemit I mean?
I work as a freelance software engineer, mainly working on report generation tools from SAP.
I keep writing blogs on the technologies I work and I also work on expertsexchange.com as a solution provider to the questions related to the technologies I have worked on.
That's about me. How about you?
When you said,
I thought you were in Education somehow, but now I'm going to guess, kids?
My story is long, but here's the Reader's Digest condensed version:) I taught high school for years (loved it!), was married for 24, divorced, two kids, met the love of my life(@briancourteau), took a leave from school, bought a restaurant (also loved it!), then he (my love) got cancer, did all the traditional and non-traditional treatments, neither worked, we sold everything and moved to Mexico, which is where I am at the moment. My boys are young adults in their 20's and still live in Vancouver, BC where we all used to be. So...we are currently just living and enjoying our days, however long they may last. It is what it is; of course we are heart-broken, but also feel very fortunate for the the time we do have together. Life works in very mysterious ways, and I am not about to try and sort it all out! We have both written about it all here, which has been very therapeutic, and we have encountered amazing support as well. Who knew...steemit would be my support system here in Mexico??!!
Well there it is...you asked :)
That's right, with schools off, my son has moved to his grand parents house and that gives me some more time to spend on Steemit.
Sorry to hear about your husband's condition. Some things can't be avoided and we all go through such situations in our life. I am glad that you could come out of that situation and encourage your kids and trying to move on from what you experienced. That's all life is all about, isn't it?
I am glad to know about you and your family. :)
