Today, I'm going to talk with you about your attention. First, I want to share a secret with you:
Your attention is your best weapon.
Attention is your sincere helper in every job:
in learning new things, in making decisions and problem solving. Unfortunately, such a wonderful resource is limited.
That's why you should limit reading random facts and memes on the Internet.
Short, brief atricles on the Internet are often superficial and don't contain many structured, connected helpful information. So when your read it, obviously, new connections in your knowledge system don't appear.
"So you offer stop to use Internet as source of entertainment at all?"
Nope, I just want to say, that you should be careful with your attention usage.
Sometimes, it's just necessary to relax and watch your favourite film or blogger!
Besides, even something superficial can give you necessary inspiration.

Yup, that's why I'm glad I was a Music History major. The mental skills you learn there, apply to any other kind of History. It enables you to connect all the dots and make sense of information in a broader context and long-term trends.
Indeed, information you learn should be deep enough to become helpful.
