Don't Waste Your Money on These Items for College

These are items I wish I wouldn't have bought for college! After all, saving money is key!

Laptop Lock: There's a reason your dorm comes with a key. I paid $25 for this and not once did I even open it during my 4 years at college.
Bed Lifts: My University bed wasn't even capable to be lifted by these things...most often times your dorm furniture is able to go under your bed to lift it.
Printer: Trust me, it's nice to have your own printer, but is it needed? No. My University gave students print money and plenty of print stations around campus to use.
Iron & Ironing Board: Maybe the iron if you plan on wearing nice dress clothes, but forget the board.
Rent/Buy Textbooks: RENT ! Don't ever buy. Schools are always getting new editions every year and they don't get much for selling them back.

Definitely don't need the laptop lock unless you're outrageously paranoid and planning on leaving your laptop places for extended periods of time while you are out of sight of the laptop.
Bed lifts may be useful, but for the most part, you won't need it.
Printers are fun if you're worried about printing something for a class that is far away from public printing locations, or you really enjoy printing random essays, poems and such..
If you're not going to bring the ironing board, you pretty much should also forget about the iron. But yeah, I survived college without both of these items. If you're desperate, there's always a local dry cleaner that you can get your shirt laundered and pressed for your job interview (it will probably look better if it's professionally done anyway!).
I agree, Buy Used Books, or Rent them if you can.
