RE: The sad reality of the state of our seas

Thank you for your post. I wonder if both images are realistic. I've seen the "reality" image you've provided, but I've also seen the Instagram image. I believe it boils down to community and corporate living.

One example where the "Instagram" image is reality is concerning Avila Beach, California, and Pismo Beach, California. The community heavily monitors those beaches. There are strict laws against littering, and, if necessary, officials will call upon the citizens for cleanup. California is more environmentally conscious than other places I've lived.

I have also seen where the "reality" image is also correct. There's no excuse for it, but the most likely cause is due to a failure of the community. The community wants the beaches clean, but they also want someone else to push the issue and to clean it up for them. It's just an opinion. I don't know of any problems in publications that provide a direct link.

The beach is suppose to be maintained and cleaned and you pay a fee but there was so much trash i think after the rains it pushed trash into the sea from the dumping trash in the rivers. After all this goes to show maintain or clean the beach doesnt solve the issue at large and that is the source of all the plastic trash in the first place
