The Only Relationship Advice You Will Ever Need

in #dtube7 years ago (edited)

Hey what’s going on everyone! A couple of days ago my brother @axios and myself had an amazing talk in part of his webchat challenge that he’s currently doing.

Beside establishing a bromance we talked about relationships, where @axios shared his experience of being in a polyamorous relationship and I shared my experience of coming from a background in the “pick-up” industry but now living in a long-term relationship with @sandrastarud since 2+ years.

We both pretty much had the same views on the matter and discussed this one fundamental principle as being the most important thing when it comes to relationships. Both with a partner, but also with regards to non-intimate relationships you have on a daily basis with people. ✌🏼

So in this video we reveal our number one tip for healthy long-term relationships. 🙏🏼

You can check out the collaboration me in @axios did here, where you’ll also find out "the most important thing I’ve ever learned”.

Otherwise, f*cking CRUSH this Thursday and let's round this week off with a bang brothers & sisters 👊🏼🔥

Dude, that is a short video with such an important subject. I think that if more people practised what you just talked about we would have so much less fear in our world. I'm not sure I would be able to do it with my partner because of that fear.
I'm so impressed you two did it.
Super good video my friend :)

I needless so say agree with your thoughts Nicole! Yeah it's not easy, especially if you've been together for a while, since the "frame" and the picture you two have of each other is quite set. Although that isn't a reason not to do it 😉

Glad you enjoyed it so much, motivates me 🙏🏼

Haha 7 years and counting on is quite a while. And as you said the frames are pretty set but there is always room for communication and exploring. I really enjoy seeing how others do to deepen their relationship. :)

And you motivate me my friend :)

Exactly, don't get me wrong, ALWAYS room for tomorrows betterment 😉 And you motivate me 🙏🏼

Honesty is the key. :)
I think you have to get to that point in a relationship where you can feel like sharing everything with them, it takes time, but I think that sense of trust you can still feel even at the very beginning. Some relationships never get there, and that is exactly why they end.
Great video! ✌🏼

Great thoughts, I think the divorce rate in the U.S and Canada is hovering above 50% and I think that number would be reduced greatly if people would be honest and transparent 🙏🏼
And thank you!

I knew you were a playa’ son! :P hahaha

I actually had a friend who directly studied under the author of “the game” and Mystery. These guys were one of the originals. It was over 10 years ago. What can be used for evil can be used for good. And vice versa :)

@dlife haha 😉😂

Hah that's cool, actually Neil Strauss who authored the game is quite an amazing person today, I knew he has contributed with same major articles here on Steemit as well, very coool guy tbh 🙏🏼

. Yeah it's a good advice and it's ok as a leadership is working out I pray this relationship work out to marriage I've been with my girlfriend for six years now
She know everything about me we didn't have any secrets and I know everything about her no secret we share things together first call in the morning last call in the evening but things turned out to evil last week saturday she said a friend of mine told her that I said she is a prostitute and I never said that she changed maybe she didn't trust me again I don't really know but she stop calling me she changed her line changed her apartment and now I've been feeling lonely , broken hearted guy don't know where to find her I'm tired of life .6 years where did she expect me to start again

Wow man, I feel for you 🙏🏼

I hope with my whole heart that she finds here senses and will talk to you so you guys can sort it out and continue with a fruitful relationship. Holding my thumbs brother and sending energy from Sweden 💛

Hi, @williamwest.

I totally agree with everything you said in your video. Transparency is a must if you really want for your relationship to work out and be healthy.
Though, I have two things I want to add.

  1. “Radical honesty”. You should do it very-very carefully. Because, some people are gentle enough and can’t handle too much truth in one go. Or they might not be prepared for what they will hear from you, which can lead to disastrous consequences. You just need to not overdo with the honesty. Or at least do it in several sessions and make sure that your partner is in a good mood and open to everything you will share with him or her.

  2. To make relationship healthy, you simply need to talk and not to be afraid to do it. No matter what it is, even if it might involve only yourself. If it involves both of you, it is super crucial to talk and share your thoughts with your beloved one. If you have a problem or something that bothers you and you are trying to hide it, you partner will eventually find out. And, Lord, have mercy, if he or she will find it out from the third party. Just talk. Because, being honest and solving problem together will only bind you, while silence will only make it worse.

Will be waiting for your new vids on dtube @williamwest! Have a nice day 👍 😃

@moviebuff my brother 🙏🏼 I missed you and your comments, for real!

The first point that you bring up I couldn't agree with more, should definitely have touched upon that in my video. Especially if you've been together for a while, dropping 20 truth-bombs might not be a pleasant surprise and might actually turn out quite catastrophic depending on the relationship. Several sessions in that case is solid advice.

Regarding number two, not much to add, agree 100%. As you say, the longer you wait to say something the worse it gets, just make it a habit to talk openly and the problems will be minimized by large amounts.

Glad to have you back on the blog @moviebuff, I'd love to hear you're overall feedback on the videos as well if you have any, I respect your opinion. Also regarding the format of varying videos and articles. Have an amazing weekend! 🙏🏼😁

@williamwest Thank you very much for the detailed post!! :) My advice to all the beginners is that "Do or say something daily to show your appreciation."

"Saying and doing small, simple expressions of gratitude every day yields big rewards. When people feel recognized as special and appreciated, they're happier in that relationship and more motivated to make the relationship better and stronger. And when I say simple, I really mean it. Make small gestures that show you're paying attention: Hug, kiss, hold hands, buy a small gift, send a card, fix a favorite dessert, put gas in the car, or tell your partner, 'You're sexy,' 'You're the best dad,' or simply say 'Thank you for being so wonderful.'"

Yeah that's a good one. And as you point out, it is CRUCIAL that you mean it. Otherwise it shines through, especially if you give a compliment to a girl, you may think you're smooth but girls are way better at picking up subcommunications than we are. In other words, be honest and don't be shy to give praise and appreciation 🙏🏼
