Business wise I think it would make the most sense to have Jericho be the first champion seeing as how from a mainstream stand point he is the biggest name they have. So when they start on TNT they can have whoever they want to beat him do a big title chase that ends with the guy who beats him being made into a star right away
I can't disagree. Business-wise, sure. As a fan, I'm just not so excited about it going to a veteran who should be putting new guys over. But you make a good point that he can do that better going in as champion in a long feud.
