Hawaii volcano
With all the eruptions going on in Hawaii, this is a warning for many other volcano prone areas, including the ring of fire. We need to watch out for volcanoes that could erupt as well. Although this one is violent, there are volcanoes that will release in a huge blast, like the volcanoes in the cascades. If you live in a volcano prone area, be prepared. Here are some steps to get prepared and what to do in case of a eruption.
- Make sure to have food and drink and supplies ready for a long time. Not just 3 days, but 2 weeks, or more. The more you prepare, the better.
- Luckily, some volcanoes have warning signs, that give you time to escape, and it could be lots of time. Stay away from the volcano at all costs.
- If you see the volcano erupt, shelter in place at a high elevation area like a hill. Huge mudslides and larhars will be rushing down the volcano after the volcano erupts, so make sure to get to high ground, and try to get inside as well.
- Stay indoors in the aftermath. Ash will make it almost impossible to breathe or do anything for weeks, months or even years, better safe than sorry.
We may never know when we have to respond, but if you are in a volcano prone area, you better be prepared for one to explode.
