Insults at work are not okay. we should Set boundaries, communicate expectations, and prioritize our mental health. we should Try to address the issue constructively before considering quitting but should not be afraid to leave a job that doesn't align with our values. our well-being is important.

While you are right in optioning to quit if insulted , I think it will be better for both parties if the issue is reported to a higher authority for mutual adjudication and the offender punished if found culpable as necessary.
On the other hand , he/ she could be reprimanded and cautioned against a future similar act .
Humans are complex beings in behaviors . What we considers as true might not be to the other party because of different culture, orientation and perspective.
