@aedroberts brings an intriguing perspective to this piece on the value of your Steemit account. It's one you may not have considered. It's one a lot of Steemians may not have considered, in my experiences around the platform.
But by not treating your Steemit account like an asset -- or better still, a business -- you're seriously undercutting its potential ... and costing yourself dearly. Learn why he says this ... and how you can do it better. It's a lesson worth taking to heart.

This essay from @tremendospercy is the latest entry in an impressive work of scholarship. As I wrote before, this series unfolds like a documentary in text, built partly of history, partly of archaeology, it explores the ancient world. This installment deals with the underground City of Derinkuyu in Cappadocia, Turkey. If the very idea of that intrigues you, step inside,

With leadership comes power, responsibilities ... and problems. @adamtilsley offers thoughts on what to do when those latter things show up. This spontaneous video delivers food for thought ... and reasons to watch it several times. Now more than ever in this interconnected world, people are still people. And where people gather, problems soon follow.
A lesson in leadership
@adamtilsley
I know you're used to seeing articles and pictures in this list. This isn't either of those. Instead, it's a charming musical interlude that still has me wondering... how on earth does he do that background trill while he's playing. I've watched this thing three times. I still don't get it.

I told you last time @holbein81 is drinking his way around the world -- sort of. Actually, he's drinking all kinds of different beers from around the world and reviewing them. Yesterday it was Western Australia. Today it's Belgium. Who know where he'll be staggering next. Since I ratted him out last time, he won't tell me. You'll have to follow his blog to find out. You could do worse. Just sayin'.

Croatia's got talent!! Duro -- who hides out under the identity @awakentolife -- proves it by going through his refrigerator, pulling out some vegetables I'd normally throw in the trash, and turns them into a beautiful risotto for dinner. Now it's possible this one caught my eye because I was so ready for lunch when I saw it.
But no kidding. Would you imagine a guy (a guy!!) could turn a battered eggplant, one zucchini and some very suspicious looking carrots into a lunch that looks like this? But then again, Croatia's a poor country. They've had a hard time. Maybe the people there will eat anything.

and you are lazy to go to grocery store.

With freedom comes responsibility. @richhersey argues that's no less true for free speech than for any of the others. How you present your ideas can have just as much impact on your audience as the ideas themselves.
If you want to convince someone of your position, rather than just squall insults and call him names, how you talk to him can make a difference. People are more apt to give you a fair hearing if you're not belligerent or condescending. No one responds well to being harangued and belittled.
Yes, you may have "freedom of speech" guaranteed in the Constitution, but nobody has the obligation to listen. Figure out how you want to come across before you start to speak. It makes a difference.
but abuse it and you may lose it.
@richhersey
I still hadn't had lunch when I came across this one. It felt like a conspiracy. More great photos and some exotic-looking seafood, a Chinese dish to engage both the eyes and the imagination. On an empty stomach, this felt really cruel. The pictures tell you why.

I keep saying I'm not much for poetry. The Steemian writers keep proving me wrong. Hmmm. Maybe I'm more high-brow than I thought!
@fitzgibbon
People who know this stuff tell me this guy makes sense. I'll have to take their word for it. Perhaps you speak his language. Or vice versa.

We hope to meet you soon on our dedicated Discord server -- where our awesome Welcome bot Mee6 will greet you and get you started. Then a real human will hustle along to help you further. At least that's how it's supposed to work. If the room is empty when you arrive, give it a few. Eventually someone's bound to notice.
The author of this list of curated posts by members of The Unmentionables is @enchantedspirit whose mostly metaphysical writing can be found on her own blog. The opinions here are strictly hers ... but they're also very true! (With occasional prompting and cheerleading from @fatpandadesign. That guy has his fingers in every pie.)
Thanks for the mention and writeup about my post. I'm glad to be a part of a community which attempts to put others first! It's not always easy, but we are helping each other grow. Awesome!
It's a concept whose time has come, @richhersey. When I saw the publicity / recruitment material for it, I literally couldn't click the links fast enough to get lined up. It was comical. I don't even remember where or how I saw it. That got lost in the scramble.
I believe in this from another life -- 'cause I appear to have been born this way. (INFJ ... you notice.) I have long lamented ... can you imagine the kind of world we could build if everyone were devoted to seeing everyone else succeed and thrive? This, I'm hoping, is the start of a whole new mindset. I'm 110% behind it.
Oooh, twice in two days on the curation post - thank you!!
That deserves an upvote and a tip!
Cheers
Reading this, I'm reminded of Ruth Gordon winning the Oscar for Rosemary's Baby -- at 70-something -- and in her acceptance speech, she looked down at the statue and marveled aloud, "You have no idea how encouraging a thing like this can be."
Yeah, Ruthie ... when it happens, we do!
Looks like someone creates amazing work, then ;)
Good job and thanks again for the tip - let's see if you can extend the streak to 3!
Who knows!!
My last couple of posts haven't been about beer though, so probably not nearly so good...
You're gonna make me relapse and the entire group is gonna fall into anarchy. LOL
Lol replace and anarchy
LOL... the moment I saw Zord's post I knew this is going to be a cruel and painful review especially on an empty stomach.
The good part is that when I saw that post, I just had some food so I skipped the agony.
Great choices @enchantedspirit , as usual!

I know. That gorgeous photograph of the dinner with the shrimp and water chestnuts ... and all I can think is "get me some chopsticks!"
(Forget the chopsticks. Get me a shovel!)
Amazing service and that is also free of cost. Thank you @unmentionable for such nice idea!
It's all about the community and serving them as best as we are able. @EnchantedSpirit does an amazing job creating these curation posts - I just simply do the admin work LOL. She's the talented one.
Wow, thanks for including me again.
It really is an honour considering the quality posts that I've seen in recent days.
Well done to all the other great Steemians listed.
Keep it up guys.

Great work is absolutely recognized and we try to reward it as best as we are able (with our bot upvote and by hopefully gaining you some extra exposure!)
Keep up the stellar performance, Percy. You're doing awesome.
Thank you for the kind words, it make all the research and hard work worth it to know my efforts are appreciated.
I'm thrilled to see so many people appreciating your work -- because for certain a ton of work went into it.
This is an absolute honor! I'm sooooooo proud to be a member of this group!!
You're doing great work and we are very glad to have you as part of our team. Don't stop creating and being amazing - we want to continue to see you and everyone else here, grow!
We are assembling a remarkable group of creative people. The quality of what I see improves daily. Creativity in one area fertilizes creativity in all others. When all boats rise, it creates a new mindset, new momentum, new opportunities. When people concentrate on helping others and out-doing themselves, it builds a path to a whole new world. The energy is amazing. It's always here. It just depends on what you do with it.
As usual, a lot of good posts on there. Some I still need to check out. Thanks for putting this together! #theunmentionables
Thank you for stopping by. Hasta la vista. (That's close to the extent of my Spanish. And I honestly didn't learn that from Arnold Schwarzenegger.)
Lol! :)
