What are Sell Walls in Crypto Trading?
This is a question that repeatedly comes up in crypto trading groups. Sell walls are large sell orders. Buy walls are large buy orders. It is simple as that. These walls are used by whales to move markets. They are pretty easy to spot. Noobs tend to run scared when they see sell walls and buy when they see a buy wall. Take a step back and take a deep breath.
Why Put Up a Sell Wall in Crypto?
- Hold or Suppress a Price Down.
- Push a Price Down Into Personal Buy Orders.
- Cause Panic in a Market.
- Everyone Legitimately Wants to Sell.
- Create Negative Sentiment in the Market.

Why Put Up a Buy Wall in Crypto?
- Get Sellers to Close Their Sell Orders.
- Push the Market Up.
- Support a Bullish Market.
- Push the Market Into Personal Sell Orders.
- Create Positive Sentiment in the Market.
What I Do When I See Sell Walls and Buy Walls Pop Up.
I try to figure out what is happening. Is it a pump and dump group trying to push the price up. Is a whale trying to push the price down into their buy orders? I am very cautious when I am buying with a false buy wall present and I do not sell with a false sell wall. The only time that I disregard this is when there is either positive news or negative news. In this case it could be regular market behavior.

It is a good post to let others (who weren't aware) know about sell and buy walls. But to be honest I expected more from this post. I mean more detailed explanations about how to act, how to distinguish and etc.

Thanks for sharing. Good to educate people about these type of strategies being used to manipulate prices. I've come across some of these in the past. At first, I fell for them as well, but you start to learn with some experience. Thanks for sharing.

Hi @hilarski, nice post about whales. Did you succeed to transfer your BTC (from you last post 1 week ago)? Personally I don't buy when there is a huge whale. Large investors can influence the market to their advantage (both upwards and downwards) and I am not a big investor. I'd rather wait a few minutes or a few hours for the whale to disappear.
