SEC20W2 Class 2: Half point
It is another great week of leading project and this time around we will talk how to make half stitch in circular knitting or weaving.
It was an interesting class though It took me several hours to understand the lesson but then I was so happy at the end because I was able to give it a try and of course I'm learning so I'm always open for any corrections.
Task 1
To begin this home work task, I first of all make a chain of five then I create a ring with it. I already learn how to make a chain stitch in the previous class that is in class 1.
So I sketch a pattern that will guide me while making the stage and creating the ring and I also made a video while doing this you can watch the video below.
Let me explain how I made my ring, although I've already made it in the video but let me explain how I did it.
At the end of the chain stage that is the five stitch chain, just as represented in the arrow of the above sketch pattern.
I turned my needle to the first part of which I began the first stitch of the chain.
Then I joined it today by making a stitch.
Task 2
After making the ring I proceeded to make a half point and then clean the knitted work using my scissors.
Collage representing how I made half stitch 🧶
A beginning by creating a hoop at the end of the ring.
Second, I made a loop by inserting the needle through the centre of the ring passing under the hoop,
Then I wrapped the thread on the head of the needle.
Finally, I pull it out then lock it up by making a 1 stitch then I repeat the process for 8 times to complete my half stitch.
To continue this process, I sketch a 8 half stitch pattern just as I understood from the lecture. This pattern guide me as I was making the half stitch.
O represent the chains
X represent the half stitch
The video below shows how I made it 👇
Task 3
To make a half stitch first round of 16 I continued with the same process I did previously. I also sketch a half stitch pattern of first round of 16 as a guide while making the half stitch.
Before creating this pattern I discovered that it was a little bit difficult for me to understand the steps but with this pattern it makes it very easy to understand what to do. So it is just to make a half stitch of 16 on top I have stage of it that was previously made, the X here makes the work self explanatory.
Watch the video below 👇
Task 4
So in task 4 I am going to show how I made a second round of 16 half stitch. It is very easy is just to repeat the half stage to make it 16 rounds.
This pattern say it all
Watch the video.
Task 5
Of course I did this work myself you can see me below with holding my work wishes that I did the job myself.
It was challenging so at first it takes me some hours to understand what is really required but then after much washing of videos by the teacher I was able to understand her.
Even with that if there are any errors or any steps I didn't get it right from the video I stand to be corrected.
Anyways I am learning and if I'm not corrected I won't get it right so thank you so much for this beautiful licence of how to make crochets. I have learnt a lot and I hope to crochet a beautiful hat or blankets or anything out of this lesson for my beautiful princess.
I would like to invite @dequeen @adylinah and @lovinah to take part in this contest.
Following your tasks from 1 to 5 with your detailed explanation made it easy to understand your knitting process. Your work looks neat, with time we’ll reach that stage of making a full hat for yourself and your little princess. I like your voice over,😁 sharing ideas about crochet class and promoting steem at the same time. Well done and many success in the challenge!
Oh I'm so glad with your comment. I will be waiting to see your entry.
I already had some basic knowledge and of course I'm willing to learn more, that is the reason I try my best to make this crochet.
I can't stop promoting steemit when I know I've learned so much from it, I know other people will watch my videos as well that's the reason I promoted steemit.
Thank you for your best wishes
