Craft Beer review by the KraftyKatz
"The Kalash 2017"
Brewery: Hop Nation - http://www.hopnation.com.au/
Location: Footscray, Australia
Style: Russian Imperial Stout
ABV: 10.2%
Other Notes: Barrel aged in Bourbon & French oak Pinot Noir barrels.
After 6 months of ageing in seasoned Bourbon & French oak Pinot Noir barrels, a subtle oak influence integrates with chocolate, tar & spice. This rich, brewding beast will take you to the dark side.
G'day fellas we are the KraftyKatz from Melbourne, Australia.
Tonight we are going to review the shit out of one of our personal favourite stouts...
HOP NATION - KALASH
After their 2016 release, being as thick as motor oil, and huge Bourbon notes, we found it pretty hard to believe that they could top it again this year.
... but fuck me fucking sideways, this is one complex beast.
Its like a rum and raisin icecream banged a bottle of penfolds, and this is the bizzare bastard lovechild it created.
and its fucking deeeeeeeeeeeelicious.
Although the 2016 has a much thicker texture, this beer blows it out of the water (or beer) with is complexity. It really has so much flavour going on. The Pinot Noir aging takes this beer to a new level.
Despite where you are in the world, I would really recommend trying to track down this beer.
It rates a 9/10 on the "drink till I would vomit scale"
Cheers from the KraftyKatz and until next time remember craft not crap!!!
