None along the escalator. By the time you ask the question, he's already down (presumably on the ground floor). At home, I'm sure he ate donuts and Duff.

Sry the text was not perfect - corrected ;)

it's not a simple math problem as others have pointed out ... it can't be. One would have to be srinting pretty fast to go up a down escalator in only a few more steps than they other way. And homer doesn't sprint. so it's trick of words...If the building is shut down, he probably didn't get to go home or even down the escalator, not for a while at least. And once they un-shut down the escalator it began running again, and he didn't have to walk along it, he could just stay still and it'd move for him. When I walk up a down escalator, it takes me a kajillion steps to get up... and going down it takes me none, 'cause I just stand there. So he ate nothing. He died that day.

Really great quiz thanks a lot for sharing and keep on posting ;)

Thank you :) Not participating though?

It took me some time to realise what was happening exactly :P

First, he walks against the way the stairs are moving. This takes 180 steps.
Second, he walks with the way the stairs are moving. This takes 120 steps.

That means the movement of the stairs is (180-120)/2 = 60/2 = 30 steps.

As the speed of the stairs disappear, the amount of steps to walk down is 180-30 = 150.

So it is 150 steps :)

And at home he had most likely eaten some donuts.

oh I forgot to say that he probably ate a donut :-)

144 steps and he ate a donut!

I would say 150 steps: 120 + 30 = 180 -30 ;) About the food, obviously a donut like everyone said aha, we know our Homer!

So I guess there is something wrong with the quiz. People are just copying popular answers to get in the lottery. I think you need to adjust the rules in your next edition.

180 Steps - 30 Steps = 150 Steps . And he ate a donut for sure ^^

144 steps. Pizza & french fries

144 steps and donuts.
