Better Than Any Restaurant: Mom's Cooking Part.3 秀秀我家大厨的手艺，据说比餐馆做的都要好吃 第三集
Sunday is time for my mum's cooking show, and today the chef's menu is the turtle! Actually it is soft-shelled turtle, which is said nutritious in China. But I felt so scared to eat it and my mum was totally pissed-off, lol. There were some other guests visiting my parents today but they apparently love it.
又到了一星期一次我家大厨秀的时间，对于今天的中饭我是十分抗拒的，因为我对长得奇怪的东西都比较害怕，然而今天的中饭竟然是甲鱼。。。遥想在我高三的时候大约是因为读书太辛苦我妈就买了一只甲鱼让我补身子，当时可能也读的有点神志不清了所以硬着头皮吃了，然后很奇怪地耳朵红了一段时间，然后还失眠了一整个月，也不知道是不是心理因素。自那以后对于奇怪的东西我都是拒绝的，比如各种炸虫子野生禽类之流我都是只看不吃。而且看看这个壳子真的会让密集恐惧症犯病的啊！！！
具体我就不描述了，自行体会，反正我今天没敢碰。。。然后我妈非常生气，说这有什么不敢吃的，那么张牙舞爪的帝王蟹你都愿意吃，这个明明长的正常点！一时竟无法反驳。。。

好了好了来点正常的菜，因为今天上海又突破了40度，所以都是吃的凉拌菜。凉拌皮蛋。
This week Shanghai is attacked by heat waves, the temperature hits 40 degrees in past couple of days so we have lots of cold dishes. This one is preserved eggs with pickles and spring unions.

Soy beans are so good and healthy. I eat them all the time for an additional source of protein that is not milk based protein.
I have a friend who is vegetarian and she eats beans as the source of protein
what ever it takes to stay healthy and have a balanced diet :)

My day job is as a cook. Cooking as a passion of mine but gosh i wish my mother or grandmother spent more time cooking when i was a child! All these foods look delicious!

Damn! Never tried turtle before and I probably won't ever try it because I used to have one as a pet :/
But the leek pie looks really delicous. I wonder if the pie resembles pita? I mean what kind of fluor you use for it?
It might looks like pita, but they are made in a different way. Pita is baked bread used as wrappers, but leek pie is dough stuffed with leek and then baked together, so I would call it pie rather than pita/sandwich

The food menu is very special and very much contain protein and nutrients ... I really like ... I really like, which must be very delicious food. Chinese cuisine is VERY Good, my uncle was a missionary in Taiwan for 11 years and speaks Mandarin very fluently. We used to go to the local Chinese restaurant and he would order in Chinese, and get authentic foods, not the "Americanized" versions :D

Authentic ones are much better than Americanized ones definitely, American ones only have general Tao and when I was in the US, I will judge whether the Chinese restaurant is authentic by if there are more Chinese dining or not.
I agree with you on the looks but I bet the taste is something that makes fireworks sensations to your taste buds. This would be challenging for me due to I'm not accustomed to it yet I'd be willing to sample a small portion. Very nice blog along with great pictures of each dish. Keep on steeming @stacee
