Memorial Day: Remembrance of American service members who died in armed conflicts.
On Memorial Day, the flag of the United States is raised briskly to the top of the staff and then solemnly lowered to the half-staff position, where it remains only until noon. It is then raised to full-staff for the remainder of the day.
It is said that Memorial Day is a controversial Holiday. Even the History is debated. But one thing I think we all should agree on, people gave their life for what they believed was a fight worth fighting. It has always annoyed me when I see people confuse this day with Veterans Day, or worse; Labor Day. Have we forgotten so much of our culture that our own heroes are forgotten too ?
This is not a day for celebration, nor is it a day for sadness. It is a day of honor for those who gave all. The loved ones those fallen soldiers left behind deserve that from us, May God have mercy on our Souls.
If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Philippians 2:1-7
We must remember, we are not striving for a treaty with the Army of Darkness. The fight continues. WWG1WGA
