Monumental leap forward for UK.

Cannabis oil allow for the first time ...

It's not often I write or even take note of the propaganda pages but this case has caught my attention. Even less often I don't use my own photography but this post deserves it. Many of you will have heard the case of Billy Caldwell who has been using cannabis to control his epilepsy. Since using it he has been seizure free for 300 days. Billy became the first person in the UK to receive an NHS prescription for medical cannabis, with the support of his GP. However the Home Office intervened to ordered his doctor to halt the prescription or risk losing his licence. To cut a long story short his mother has since been sourcing it from Canada. Last Monday she was stopped at Heathrow airport with the latest supply of cannabis.

Hours after the confiscating the cannabis at the airport Billy's seizures returned. When there is proof it works and helps someone live a full and more comfortable life to take it away is nothing short of negligence and frankly sickening for any human being to allow. There have been many conversations and discussion on this so I won't go into detail of the benefits of cannabis oil.

But in a turn of fortune...

A few days after once Billy had been admitted to hospital Sajid Javid the British Home Secretary stepped in and allowed Billy to have the cannabis to treat his epilepsy. Now this was mainly due to the intense public pressure. Which incidentally just shows what power we have to change the world and make people listen by coming together under one voice, but I digress.

Mr Javid has now launched a review into the UK policy on medical cannabis. Where I would not hesitated to give it to a family member who needed it a lot of people would not because the men in Westminster say they can't. So this is a monumentl day for the UK I feel. Their have been MP's who have campaigned for this such as Nick Clegg the failed Liberal Democrat leader who said today:

The former Liberal Democrat leader said: "It is pathetic - and I saw it for myself in government - this bone-headed triumph of prejudice over evidence.

"The active substance in these cannabis-derived medicines is less harmful than stuff you can get across the counter from a chemist.

"When I was in government, I certainly couldn't get Theresa May and the Home Office and indeed other parts of the government to just address the evidence.

"That poor mother is finding herself in this heartbreaking situation because politicians can't separate off the issue of medicinal cannabis to help her child from their wider prejudice about drugs generally."

I not not one hundred percent convinced this will be the outcome we are all looking for but the fact it is on the table and in the propaganda media; is massive an hopefully with sustained pressure we can finally get access to real medicine. Even if they do agree it can be used which is likely as even the Hunt Jeremy Hunt the Health minster agrees our laws are out of date; there is still along way to go. But even my dad who I have be trying to get on cannabis oil for month is now talking about maybe taking it. The conversation has started and the research is coming out of the shackles.

The ball is set in motion and it's great to finally see guys!

Problem seems to me to be that you can't patent a plant. The prescribed oils will need to be patented and will therefore be synthetic and come with their own set of problems as some people have already found. This govt doesn't give a toss about making people better. They are working for the money makers like Theresa May's husband and their ilk unfortunately. The Daily Mail hasn't suddenly become pro cannabis. It's become pro 'cannabis oil' in whatever form it takes to be patented and made into a money funnel. I hope it helps everyone that uses it but it won't be the really good pure oil that people can make in their kitchens IMO. Lots of propaganda to be wary of here with this topic. I'm very cautious yet hopeful about it all.

Yes I agree those bastards have clearly seen a way to profit from it. I would not trust anything the GP gave me that came from big pharm. But my hope is that this will encourage more growers and the black market will produce some good quality medicine. Plus as you say some made at home. The law will show people it works and hopefully encourage people to make their own 💯🐒

You may well be right. Expect a war on seeds.

Oh yes for sure. I followed Vandana Shiva for a while now, seeds are important and our future 💯🐒

I'm honestly thrilled about this step forward, and also today's news that Canada has legalised recreational use. Finally we seem to be leaving the dark ages.

I know it's not for everyone and that not everyone will agree, but I think legalisation would be a step forward for those who use for varying reasons.

Unjust laws should never be followed. And where does man get off banning nature making it illegal. What is sad is my government has know since 1972 after the United States government funded studies that Cannabis cures some forms of cancers and they seizure treatment isn't new I found it in an old book from the 1800s when I was researching treatments trying to find a cure for my mom. Sadly it is illegal where I live, and I can't get my mom to take it with it being illegal. My state government made it legal for those with seizures but there is no place for them to fill their prescriptions for it. Then you have Hemp which is legal in all the states here in the US and it is being marketed like it is it's cousin cannabis cbd and they are not the same at all. Hemp is beneficial like vitamins can be but Cannabis CBD is a medicine that actually works because you need the THC with the CBD for it to work correctly and Hemp's THC content isn't high enough.
Sorry for going on a rant... Congrats on a leap forward on this

No rant justified is shocking an I don't know why people allow a few people with more money dictate to them. In the UK we have strict laws on plants a long way behind the rest of the world. I hope this news bring the real researching into the foreground and people wake up to its healing powers an take it into their own minds to make the right decisions 💯🐒
