Есть у нас в Донецке удивительный мемориал. Он расположен в центре города, в парке возле Южного автовокзала. Это - "Мемориал чернобыльской славы участникам ликвидации последствий аварий на ЧАЭС"( официальное название) , который был установлен 26 апреля 2006 года.
Он открыт в год 20- летия аварии на ЧАЭС, в память о 8 тысячах ликвидаторах-дончанах этой трагедии. Это если верить официальным документам самый большой монумент в Украине.
Монумент напоминает собой колокол, который как бы звонит, напоминая об опасности, которую таит "мирный атом". Сверху колокола - птицы, сгорающие от пламени- они символизируют, боль и память.
На памятнике с одной стороны, можно увидеть небольшую икону - "Чернобыльский спас", а с другой надпись- ликвидаторам Чернобыльской трагедии.
We have an amazing memorial in Donetsk. It is located in the city center, in a park near the South Bus Station. This is the "Memorial of Chernobyl fame to the participants in the liquidation of the consequences of accidents at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant" (the official name), which was established on April 26, 2006.
It is open in the year of the 20th anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, in memory of 8,000 liquidators-donchans of this tragedy. This, according to official documents, is the largest monument in Ukraine.
The monument resembles a bell, which as it were ringing, recalling the danger that the "peaceful atom" conceals. Above the bell are birds that burn from flames, they symbolize pain and memory.
On the monument on the one hand, you can see a small icon - "Chernobyl saved," and on the other, the inscription-liquidators of the Chernobyl tragedy.
