How to grow once we are started
Things which can be sold for money are assets, not all assets are equal.
Some assets help us to accomplish our business, like a business premises which could be sold when it no longer meets our needs. These assets can be classed as fixed or movable assets.
Another type of asset is called a productive asset. This asset can also be sold but in addition it is required to produce the products we sell or services we render. If we run a website the laptop or computer we access and manage it with is a productive asset.
To grow our business successfully we should be maximizing the value we get out or produce from our productive assets.
We should also take good care of our productive assets in order to maximize their productive life time and productive capacity. If we farm with livestock it is important to take good care of the animals in order to ensure their well-being. The spin-off is that well managed productive assets produce more effectively and efficiently.

There is another asset, in my opinion more important.
It is the people running the business. You can buy their time for money but this not enough.
If you want them to be a very productive asset, you should invest in them more than you pay for their time.

@sme - Thank for the informative post. I imagine that we should be focusing on productive assets we improve our cashflow, this would allow us to in invest in and suitable fixed assets!?
