RE: 500+ SBD BOUNTY & POTENTIAL STEEMGIG - HELP ME IMPROVE STEEMIT

in #bounty7 years ago (edited)

Awesome idea! I am a developer and am bummed that I didn't see this earlier.

A few suggestions:

  1. My first thought was "Damn! I can nail this gig by offering to do it for way less." I would suggest that, in the future, you should ask for bids . . . .
  2. While there are way too many tools out there, if you were to collect AND CURATE a bunch of tools ("Papa's Workshop!") it would be awesome.
  3. Even better would be to develop a common platform and development community around Papa's Workshop. That way you could have your tools made and customized to order.
  4. You should work with me to make this happen. Just sayin . . . . ;-)

There's no need to strain yourself. I already implemented the idea yesterday. You can try it here.

This works great!

Good job! I would suggest ordering the tags by frequency of use. Since you have done the backend work already, let me know if you would appreciate some help with styling and mobile optimization, so you don't have to do everything on your own.

Good idea with the frequency. I'll implement it tomorrow. As for the styling feel free to come with suggestions.

Actually, I couldn't sleep, so I implemented a very inefficient version of what you're talking about.
It's quite a bit slower than the previous version, but I think it's worth it; at least until I get time to implement a better one.

If you add this after all other CSS, it should work well on mobile devices. Also, I changed the image sizes, so they all have the same width, and get cropped at the bottom to preserve the ratio. I think, the overall look is cleaner that way.

The CSS looks a little weird at some places, because for testing in Firebug etc. I had to cancel out the existing CSS at some places.

Tested on Chrome and Firefox and my HTC's and Samsung mobiles.

Thanks, I just pushed your css to the live version. I'll take your suggestions in the comment into consideration for future development.

A little bug I found: The first (most frequent) tag shows a wrong amount of posts (times 2 for my account and your account). However, I've seen also seen other differences than the factor 2.

On the subsequent tags it seems to be correct in most cases...there are some differences as well sometimes. I figured this might be caused by authors changing their tags afterwards, but I can't tell for sure.

I found the bug. It's because the main (category) tag is written twice to the blockchain tag section.

While I could try correct it, it will likely be fixed soon making the time spent fixing the bug worthless.

Cool, I'm already changing the styling in Firebug until it looks good on my smartphone :)

Wow! Now you are a thinker!

I'll keep this in mind. Thanks!
