Under the new guidelines, regardless of sexual orientation, sex, or gender, those who have anal sex with a new or more than one partner in the last three months are deferred.

In addition those on ART, PrEP, and PEP will also be deferred from donating.

All potential donors will now be screened with a questionnaire that assesses individual HIV risk based on sexual behavior.

A much more risk-based system than the old, outdated policy.
