Thank you for sharing @stevenmosoes, for reminding and inspiring me to do my own mini bible study.
The answer to the question that Paul asked?
Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? Paul lamented.
Romans 7: I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. 22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Only if we have Christ and the Holy Spirit we can fight the good fight as you give it to us in this verse:
But thank God: (3) For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. (4) For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, (5) casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).
What is very important about the verse above is
bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
Every sin starts with a thought, so if our own flesh or the devil put the thought in our mind, then we should immediately take it captive into obedience in Christ!
Romans 8: 12-14 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Wow. Great view my dear friend. Great contributions. Thank you.
