The View as I Steem - Behind the Curtain Challenge
Thank you @simgirl for nominating me for @Freedomtowrite's "Behind the Curtain Challenge"! The challenge is a way to give the Steemit Community a chance to see how we look, or what our view is while we Steem on!
There are 3 Rules:
- Take a picture of yourself working on Steemit, or what you see while you work on Steemit.
- Tag 5 Steemians in your post.
- Use the #behindthecurtain

Most of the time, I use my cell phone for reading and commenting. There's just the one computer in the house and usually someone else is on it. I've written two posts on my cell and both times I've sworn to not do it again! (It takes three times as long and my auto-correct button loves to mess with me! 😑)
The desk is in the back of the house, and during the day it has the best lighting of any other room. I love to have the windows open, when it isn't freezing outside, and feel the breeze while I work! The monitor is a TV that my partner hooked up so that he'd be able to play games from his chair across the room. I always adjust my window when I'm working since it's too large to comfortably work with up close. There are always notebooks and pads of paper around for ideas, doodles, and grocery lists.

On the printer, you can see some of the Legos that my youngest daughter has built. These were left from earlier in the day when we were playing together. She'll move the characters around while I'm on the computer and we crack each other up trying to outdo each other with weird stories. The picture above has Batman and Mulan leading an attack on Lord Garbadon's secret printer base to rescue his butler Alfred. (Lord Garbadon was still in his pajamas and eating cereal when his Security Koala sounded the alarm!)

Here, Zendria the elf let her Dragon have a Batzarro snack when he tried to steal a dragon egg. We were thinking of sacrificing him to the stapler but, her dragon was hungry. Batzarro is the only immortal character in our Lego games. He's annoying and we have come up with so many creative ways to kill him. Unfortunately, he never stays dead! My daughter and I have decided that he's just too dumb to die. This particular dragon eats him at least twice a week! As you can imagine, it's hard to get much of anything done when there is a battle and hilarity going on!
I'd like to nominate @whatisnew, @scribblingramma, @wonderwop, @poetrybyjeremy, and @dennisauburn. Feel free to share as much or as little of your work space as you'd like!

Those Lego stories are fun as hell! What a mom your daughter has (and the other son/daughter too)!
Sorry Marco, I thought I had responded to you earlier. 🤗 I have two daughters and they are such a trip! I'm a VERY lucky Mama! I'll tell my youngest to set up the Legos and the next thing I know, she has this entire village ready and has this HUGE grin on her face! I love that! In one storyline, Batman has an obsession with a pet hedgehog (who wants nothing to do with him) and he's set off on these horrible quests to save it! (The hedgehog never appreciates it... Poor Batman!)
Grazie for the compliment you sweet man!
All my fantasy is a pale shade comparing to your wonderful daughters!
How sweet! Although, I don't agree. (After all, I've read your fantastic stories and have seen some of the work that you've done on your game!)
Hello @brisby! Thanks for doing my challenge! I've seen your name pop here and there, but now it feels like I've officially met you, haha. Your lego adventures with your daughter are fantastic! I'm following now...have a blessed day!
Hi Freedomtowrite! Thank you for creating a great challenge for people to have fun and learn more about each other! I'm glad that you enjoyed our Lego tales! I'm following you as well, your freewrites are a joy to read! I hope that you have an absolutely wonderful day as well!
Thank you so much!
Hahaha! It was truly interesting to read the lego-adventures. I love the creativity your daughter has. I'll try to remember to do one of these posts this week, now that I am nominated ;)
Thank you Poetrybyjeremy! She's such a trip! There's this one storyline where a shark has become obsessed with yarn and a water witch loves to torture him by taking his ball of yarn and hiding it in Garbadon's clam rocket. I hope you can find the time to take the challenge since I'm so curious...
With all of those Lego's around, I would never get any work done. Thanks for the glimpse into your madness.
Ha! I'm not able to accomplish much, that's for sure! Not to mention the danger from Legos falling to the floor! Every time I step on one it's like the things are giving me a tiny little...
I love this post so much!! I love the story of you and the lego's very more!!!!!!!!
Thank you for being You!!!
I'm so happy that you liked it!!! We're always having a blast and laughing maniacally when everyone leaves the room because they can't handle our silly! Thank you for being you too hon! Hugs!
HaHa! I sure would like to be a fly on the wall while you and your daughter make up stories. Like mother, like daughter! : ) You nominated me? Thanks...I think. But you are a hard act to follow. : )
Thank you for the compliment Whatisnew! My partner and eldest daughter tend to leave the room when we get ramped up with our stories! LOL! You're welcome..bwahahaha!!! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
I am wondering what I will come up with too. That comic is so funny. Where do you get them?
Whoops! Sorry that I'm just responding to this now Whatisnew! I love comics so I tend to google what I'm thinking of and the name of whatever comic strip series comes to mind. I think for this one I looked up The Far Side and cats. Gary Larsen's Far Side is one of my absolute favorites!
No problem. I am catching up of mine because I was out of town. Thanks for the info. I never thought to look up The Far Side. Cats...always. I am running out of images for my Friday "Have you smiled today?" Do you mind if I use some from The Far Side if I find any I like? I know all about what I can and can't use. PLMK. Thanks again! : )
You're welcome! Thank YOU for always making me smile! HUGS! I would LOVE to see some Far Side in your "Have You Smiled Today?"
Here's another comic you might like:

Thanks so much! I went to the site and "all rights are reserved" and they charge for the use so this one is out. Darn! I love their comics. But thanks anyway. Hugs back at ya! : )
