Going to Sapporo Beer Museum
Did you know that Japanese Beer tastes super-delicious? You wouldn't think too much about Beer when you think about Japan, but with the mentality and ability to do something until perfection is reached, they create awesome beer. But they did not build their skills just from scratch, in the late 19 hundrets, in fact it was the Germans who traded with the Japanese and taught them the craftmanship of brewing beers. Sapporo, the biggest city of the Northern island Hokkaido, became a hub and the beer with the name of the city the most famous Japanese beer brand - until today.
And today, the Beer Museum in Sapporo is one of the tourist magnets of the Japanese metropolis, famously known for having hosted the winter Olympics in 1972. And the museum illustrates interesting details about the history of Japanese beers.
Winter wonderland outside the museum.
We went there with a group of friends and enjoyed it very much, especially the old advertisements:
All in all, it was an amazing trip and we understand now even better, why drinking beers after work is such a tradition in Japan. And traveling in Hokkaido is very recommended as well - also because of the extremely nice food there. The speciality is crab at the fish market:
Also if you never really liked fish or seafood, Hokkaido and its capital city Sapporo will change it. But first, have a Japanese beer. Ideally, in the bar of the Sapporo Beer Museum
