Alex Verdugo, OF, Dodgers (21)
Triple-A Oklahoma City (Pacific Coast)

There’s a reason the Dodgers wouldn’t part with Alex Verdugo in their search for a high-end arm. Verdugo has top-end tools, and the Dodgers believe power will come last, as it often does for young players. He made strides toward that last week, slugging .727 during a six-game hitting streak.

Monogrande's Take
The Dodgers could've received Sonny Gray if they let go of Verdugo. That should let you know how high the Dodgers are on Alex Verdugo. When you look at a five-tool player like Evan Longoria, Bryce Harper, and Mike Trout (although some would say that he doesn't have the speed), you are seeing a prototypical baseball player. Alex Verdugo is of the same mold. Last year Seager. This year Bellinger. Next year? Verdugo. Buy.

Anfernee Seymour, SS, Braves (22)
High Class A Florida (Florida State)

Seymour doesn’t have a ton of impact with the bat—and strikes out an alarming amount for a player with little power—but he’s been insanely hot of late. He is 16-for-28 in his last eight games, including six multi-hit efforts. The scorching stretch has raised his average 32 points on the year, from .254 to .286.

Monogrande's Take
Anfernee Seymour is going to be the next player named Anfernee to be popular in Florida, if he keeps up this hitting streak. He already has the blistering footspeed and defensive abilities, but he couldn't get on base. He's devastating (ala Billy Hamilton) if he's on base, which was why I initially believed that he'd be best as a pinch runner. He could be a special player and leave Florida early next year, if you know what I mean.

Beau Burrows, RHP, Tigers (20)
Double-A Erie (Eastern)

Burrows hasn’t been as dominant in Double-A as he was in low Class A Lakeland, but that changed in his most recent start when he no-hit New Hamphire (Blue Jays) for six innings. He can overpower hitters with his upper 90s fastball, and his next step is refining his secondary pitchers so batters can’t sit on the heater.

Monogrande's Take
BB has a big pitching form. The exaggerated movement is a little funny to behold, but man, he strikes hitters down like no one else. I think he's got the stuff to be a #2 starter in the league, but he really needs a changeup to offset that fastball. Fastball placement is pretty good, so he's got that already. He'll be in the majors before 22.
