BEASTLY TALES

KNUCKLEHEAD

Edison Astor was an old motor bike mechanic.
He repaired very old bikes when others might panic.
He, himself was not so old, but somewhat mature.
His knowledge of motor bikes a definite lure.
He knew all about gimlet screws on a glockenspiel.
And, yes, ratchet cogs on a driving wheel,
He could install a knucklehead motor on an Indian bike,
New fuel tanks, or whatever you’d like.
His fingers were all twisted and gnarly,
From working on an antique Harley.
The other day, he fitted a knucklehead motor on a three wheeled trike!
Need a new skrimshaw on a podded aster?
Edison Astor was the one, to avoid disaster.

Enter now little Sebastian Spike,
A knucklehead rider on an Indian bike.
He wanted his knucklehead cams to be shaved,
His fellow bikies, of Edison Astor had raved.
“He’s the one that can do you proud!”
“He’s ever so good, and not at all loud.”
“I’d like to ride an American Chopper about,”
“The throaty rumble, indicating I’m a lout!”
“Extended handle bars, reaching out wide,”
“Perhaps with a sidecar, riding alongside!”
“In the sidecar could be EmmyLou Pratt,”
“Looking quite fetching in leathers and hard hat.”
“She could be there, as a biker’s moll,”
“Airing bikers humour in a manner most droll.”
“But first I’ll need a new knucklehead motor on my Indian bike,”
“Souped-up to go, you’ve never seen the like!”
“EmmyLou can wear her lovely ribbons too,”
“The colours being naturally, red, white and blue!”
And so the knucklehead rode off into the sunset on his bike,
That Indian one, with the knucklehead motor like.

Thanks for your nice comment.

Another great poem and artwork too.😁

Another great comment from you. Thank you.

Damn Richard, you even know about motorcycles. You're an amazing tank! Today the poem is too typically a motorcyclist and I do not understand anything, but I always appreciate your genius in the search for rhymes ... and then your draw, what a show!

As usual Armando a most thoughtful comment, appreciated thanks.

Did you draw this drawing?
