Absolutely, that's why VW is full on it. Germans, in particular, are really concerned (aware) of all that car accidents pull together with it. Health, the cost of medical care, car damage, road, and signs damage and repairs, police involvement, car towing, courts, insurance cost... are all that is part in one accident, and with this implementation, all that will be avoided (I hope so)

completely agree with you - and there is even more to come - the so called "passenger economy" will emerge and will be a multi-billion dollar market
It is crazy to think that soon people may never experience what it is like to drive a car themselves, although that may not be for 20+ years. But with the speed technology is advancing it could be sooner...
My only concern would be if someone found a way to hack one of these self-driving car networks how much chaos they could cause.
I believe that when this time comes, the self-driving car will be smart enough to 'decide' to stop and avoid accidents. Brains working on IoT and smart devices are in full swing on security just for that reason, to prevent failure or hack
The machine to machine economy is much closer than most people think... I feel like it will be a huge shock to the system of a lot of people to see things like this on the road. Much as the internet was and still is for some
Absolutely, it is so close that I believe we will be the first-hand pioneers, as some of us are with the 'birth' of Internet, cell phones, and smart phones to mention just a few. I see it as a progress, not as a distress
Oh yeah!!! Can't wait... now we can be contained to the little area the government wants us in! That is so wonderful!!!
You can look at it from that perspective of course, however, nobody else but you will tell the car to take your kids to school, and you to the work or park if you wish.
