Steem Total Value Powered Up - $48 million - July 23, 2021
This is next in my series of posts reviewing the amount and value of powered up STEEM on the Steem blockchain. For previous posts, see the end of this entry.
Noteworthy in recent weeks, the number of powered-up STEEM tokens has reached new highs (since I began tracking in April) for the last 9 consecutive days. The number, percent, and modeled value have all squeaked up a little since last week's post. The value has also bounced off of late-June lows and continues holding its own or gaining ground against other cryptocurrencies that I'm tracking.
Here are the numbers as of a few minutes ago.
Total value locked in powered-up STEEM (USD): $48,555,903.17
STEEM market cap $145,258,110.833

VESTED STEEM
After a streak of 51 consecutive new highs ended on July 7, we're currently back at a new high and on a 9 day streak.
Value of powered-up STEEM in terms of USD
Still in the summer doldrums, and still floating around 2x the late-June lows.
Value of powered-up STEEM in terms of tron (TRX)
After recovering from its June drops, the value of powered-up STEEM in terms of TRX is solidly back in the 800 million to 1 billion trading range where it seems so comfortable.
Value of powered-up STEEM in terms of Steem Dollars
In terms of SBD, the value of powered-up STEEM has been hugging the 8 million line for about two months.
Value of powered-up STEEM as a percentage of Steem's market cap
Like I always say, this is my favorite graph. At this moment, this value is above 1/3 of Steem's total market cap. Let's see if it manages to hold the line in coming weeks.
Value of powered-up STEEM in terms of bitcoin (BTC)
Floating around 1,500 BTC with modest gains for a little more than two weeks.
Value of powered-up STEEM in terms of ethereum
ETH gained a smidgeon against powered-up STEEM during the last week, but today's value is right in the middle of the range from the last two weeks - which ranged from about 21,500 to 25,000 ETH.
Value of powered-up STEEM in terms of litecoin
Gained a hair against LTC this week, crossing the 400,000 (LTC) line for the first time since late May.

I have a curiosity which is:

And I have never understood how they do those calculations to determine our steempower.
It's constantly changing. In short, you multiply your number of MVESTS by the current value of "STEEM PER MVEST" (which you can get from steemdb.io).
To get from VESTS to MVESTS in your wallet, you divide by a million.
The number of SP that you see in your screen cap from steemblockexplorer also includes delegations, but you can get the numbers without delegations from steemdb.io/@ruzmaira.
It's not exactly right, but for a quick approximation in your head you can divide VESTS by 2, then shift the decimal point 3 places to the left or divide MVESTS by 2 and shift the decimal three places to the right. As time goes on, that estimate will get less and less accurate, though.
